Good to see the top 4 are mano e mano now.

 

I was worried when a pack was chasing Ramses - I thought he had gone too hard too soon and was going to be hunted down!

Ramses back up to an almost 20km gap.560+ km in 24 hours. yoh!!!!

 

He won the 500km dutch cross country race in 18 hours and some change. Definitely got oomph in those legs!

Does anyone know what the cutoff times are at which points?  After a partner bailed at one of my Epic's I ended up chasing cutoff - that's a seriously unpleasant way to ride a bicycle.....

10km gap on the first night.

 

That means didly squat in the grand scheme of things. Long way to go

 

 

I wonder if Marco & Benky we’re marking each other and in the process let Ramses ride off into the sunset? It looks like a consistent 10km gap for the past hour.l that I’ve been following now.

 

 

my other thinking behind charging hard on the first day is

a)burning matches

b)not taking advantage of the drafting to RV1 opportunity

c)potentially being in the lead the entire race

 

the last one is just a mental thing, if you can handle it. A race this sort of length, with this amount of waterpoints, I'd rather be the guy 30mins behind for 500km.

If it's a tracker problem, then Ramses should be in Loxton already.
