"Meijer’s own dog, Olli, is a stray rescued from Romania. Olli is vegan

"Dogs can have all the benefits of a Vegan diet that humans can - less obesity, less health problems.

So it's best all round for them if they are."

Huh? There's not much advanced food production in poverty stricken war torn African countries, but there certainly is over population.

Yeah, there is. Ever heard of the Banana21 project? There's many just like that that allow people to live where in the past they would have starved.

Exaggerate much? So I could go and dump barrels of oil in the ocean, but god forbid, dont have children.

What you could do (but don't) clearly doesn't add to your impact on the environment.

So 'having kids is the biggest impact you can have on the climate' is entirely accurate. I'm not judging whether this makes it OK to have kids, but the logic seems fairly infallible.

The effect of adding a person to the planet has a bigger impact than any emission reductions you can achieve for yourself (assuming you have a similar standard of living to your kids, and that you cannot get your own emissions below 50% of your starting point). Having (half) a child adds 50% to the total emissions of each parent, them having children even more.

It was popular to say that 2 kids are 'just enough to replace ourselves', but that maths only works if you either remove yourselves, or get rid of the grandparents. Global overpopulation is a big part of our problem.

Yeah but you arent going to do that as a normal person are you?

Normal people are going to have kids, those kids need to be transported all over the place, consume food, wear clothing etc. They will grow up to have jobs that will most likely mean they drive themselves places, they might travel for work which means flights, they will most likely reproduce too which just exasperates the point.

So no, a normal person wont do something stupid like dumping barrels of oil but they will most likely reproduce.

Vegan dogs? So my lion comment above wasn't far off the mark.

Well no, a dog and its originating species were scavengers and opportunistic hunters, so they can survive on plant based diets for a limited time but need meat eventually.

Cats on the other hand are a predatory species and this goes for all cats. They are 100% carnivores and feeding them anything else is just killing them slowly.

There was a whole thing a while back where warnings were issued to vegans who tried to feed their cats vegan based diets, it just doesnt work.

Add to that the grandparents are living a lot longer these days. Some people say the world isnt overpopulated and others say it is.

The problem is that great grandparents are often still around when the new generations is being born and that is having a knock on effect on overpopulation.

Burgerfuel Dubai. Tried this, it was “ok” to be honest. Bud didn’t help that my son was smashing a double beef mushroom and cheese burger in front of me. But I’d try it again. Fries were first class [emoji1305]
