Hopefully with moerse difficulty

LOL.

Aircraft are designed well. Most jobs are fairly easy to do. For eg: an engine change is really simple. When pushed for time, with a crew that has done it a few times together before, you can prep, remove, fit, and test in an 8 hour shift. But that doesn't happen often as normally engine changes are scheduled so the aircraft gets grounded for like a whole day and a change gets done by 2 crews. First crew will remove and fit, second crew will do the ground run. You would think it is hundreds of wires and hoses that need to be disconnected but it's actually not. 1 fuel, 1 hydraulic and 1 wire loom. It is then after the connection that it gets split up. Most engines on the Airbus and Boeings have 3 to 4 mounts between engine and pylon.

And about 30 minutes later there will be a "plakkers huisie" in Alex with a rather impressive "afdakkie"

I saw a program on Netflix where a woman used two wings from a 747 as the roof to her house.  Was very different but pretty cool.  Apparently had to get clearance to build it like that as it may have looked like an aircraft crash site.

That is cool, I see there is even an engine nose cowl used as a fire pit/ umbrella holder.

Unfortunately not hey. Even if we did have U/S spares like that, they get scrapped. So much red tape nowadays.

there is/was a wing lying just off the N12 and Jet Park rd, next to where STAFIX is now.

This was about 2 years back when I saw it, I see on Google maps its not there anymore.

Would be so cool to have a wing as an "afdakkie" next to the pool. Maybe I need to ask my BIL if he can source one from a light aircraft.

I wonder what wing it was. Scrap light aircraft stuff is easier to come by. There are a lot of scrap aircraft up on poles all over the place. There is even a hanger/factory of sorts in the South alongside the highway that has some old 737 parts built into it. I'll look on google maps now and see if I can find it. It is near the block house.

I know the building, used to see when heading to the Vaal.

had a team building last week.

Our CEO graciously offered to take us all on a flip from Morgans bay up the Wild coast to Mazeppa and back.

The day before I ask all sort of questions (fsim an'all you know). Once airborne and cruising, he hands me the sticks (trim etc was handled by him). Last time I was that nervous my wife was giving birth. I just kept telling myself make small movements (as is the fsim way), but dammit what and experience.
