Oh. Duh. How could I forget. There's a market in the HB harbor on a Friday night. Live music and great food and drinks. Just don't drink drive. The Metro boys love to have road blocks as you leave the harbor.

Neither of us drink, hope not to have disappointed anyone ....

Quick strava search shows theres quite a few groups with regular rides in the area.

Bikemob in Westlake - fast

Lifecycle - Tokai - all abilties

Club100 Cape Town - all abilities

SSC (southern suburbs Cyling club)

Cape Town Giants.

google the above clubs for their email addresses and bang them a mail query on you joining their weekend club rides. Everybody goes over Chappies for a bit of Argust training before March

Must be honest though I'm not a big group ride guy, generally ride on my own all the time. Don't mind an occasional ride and I guess that way I can see the routes they use.

Thanks

Also, there will be a lot of riders out on the road at that time of year, with the Argus coming up. So, if you are feeling a bit worried from a security point of view riding the more lonely roads around the Point, it will be dead easy to find others to ride with. Routes like the stretch between Noordhoek and Camps Bay will even be a bit too full of cyclists on Saturday and Sunday mornings for some of us loner types.

My usual ride from that side is going over Chappies, Suikerbossie through Campsbay and then up just past Camps Bay High school to the top of Signal Hill and return to Noordhoek via the same way.

I think that's about 55km and just over 1000m elevation.

The Hill from Camps Bay to the top of Signal Hill is quite the monster.

Now that sounds good to me! Thanks

Do you maybe have a Garmin file or Strava link I can use please?

Ben, will be lekke to do some miles with you over the weekends, let’s catch up closer to the time

Lots of safe routes all the way from Signal Hill to Cape Point. Have a look at my strava or the heat map of the peninsula. I would stay clear of the back of Kommetjie and the informal settlement at the back of red hill on your own.

For a visiting Vaalie the hub cafe in Scarborough is a must. You are unfortunately not a tinkerer [emoji41] otherwise you may have found his hand builts quite interesting.
