Its damn hard to predict form outside of the top man and woman right now. Home advantage plays a role sometimes but its not about outright speed, rather consistency. Fitness plays a role too. A 2 day 8 stage affair suits the very fit.  Melamed is performing well. I bet on Gauvin and lost a bit. Keegan Wright was off the pace and Josh Carslon looked good in the first two but faded here.

dayum you're whooping us  :D

LOL (Its all math and statistics man)

Maes and Courdurier were virtually guaranteed wins, so easy points there, but the rest were a toss up.

Conolly wasn't on my radar and I didn't expect Dailly to be back up to speed.

Patiently waiting for the highlights now.

I don't think many people saw Connolly up there, but see before this weekend she was just outside top 10.

As for Dailly, think its been coming for a while. His elbow is still giving him grief, but think once that is fully healed he may be the guy to challenge Martin for pos 1. But don't know when this will be.

Jesse is just not consitant over stages. He came back super strong though. His consitancy is what is costing him the most.

I agree that for a big 2 day event like this fitness is key and knowing when to push and when to hold back a litle. Think this is where Martin has got everyone at the moment. You can see he pushed a lot harder on day one vs day two (not to say that he held back much) as he had a solid lead overnight. But damn that man is quick. Seen some pics where he is in the most awkward position of the bike but he looks so comfy. Mans got some serious skills!

Beat me to it.

Tough luck for Maes. The UCI basically just flushed his killer season down the toilet.

He applies for a TUE after having a festering wound treated, TUE gets denied and then he gets sanctioned.

Dick move, UCI.

They are applying the rules. He broke them he get's sanctioned. How is it back luck? And how is it a dick move by the UCI?

By refusing the TUE.

YUP!

CHEAT!!!! I'm so glad I sold my GT. It's nice and dry here up on the moral high ground.

Ag, my issue is just the huge difference in reaction when some guys get bust vs others. Enduro guys are caught and it's all 'ah, that sucks, must be a reason bla bla bla' but when a roadie is caught everyone crucifies them.

He took drugs on the naughty list and competed while on them. Caught.

Yes you're trying to win a world series, but if you are injured and can't get ready to compete within the rules of said series, unfortunately you miss out.
