Makrodales - beware!

So the Makrodale saga just sort of cooled down. Hold on to your Makrodale, because Walmart in the US of A just announced they are enterring the high end bike market with these bikes.

And I give you Viathon. Yes, it sounds like a new fizzy multi vitamin. Prices are between $2400 and $6000 for these machines. So are these bikes coming here and are Makro going to enter the higher end market?

So you gonna buy one?

When I saw the designer worked at Bordelo before, I decided to have another Vitathion instead...

At the end of the day, it's still buying from makro and dealing with their incompetent staff. Without drastic upskills, you'll end up buying the bike and suffering any issues privately unless its a warranty claim, which I expect them to be reluctant with.
Selling your soul to the devil means no provision for sympathy!

If I get proven wrong, that would actually be a good thing.

Every bike I have purchased so far is pay store, collect bike, check and set up everything myself as not one on the 6 bike stores I have ever purchased from has done a proper check. So what is the difference.

the only "tricky" thing is setting gears index, and shock/fork. And the shock/fork setup is a personal thing that you need to set by trial and error on the trail.

So what is the issue if the price is right?

If they half decent and get more people on bikes, good for them, would be keen to try out the garvel bike, on the build side, as long as all the parts are there and not damaged in any way its no sweat, can do what's required myself.

Regards warranty, I've bought plenty stuff from Makro and never had an issue with warranty.
