So I changed my fork from and old rockshox fork that had oversize steerer where I used giant OD2 stem and spacers etc.

Issue now is I replaced fork with normal tapered steerer, replaced the spacers but still play in the headset, guess the inner top headset bearing must be where can I get headset compression bearing 44/56mm, don't want to spend R2k on hope headset etc

For the Momsen STR folks and the hubbers who love tan sidewalls

I fell in love riding this over my dual suspension

Very good looking build. The tan sidewalls work so well with the paint on that frame. A steel hardtail built right is special...

Thanks man!

I was skeptical at first, but they go well with the green

Steel frame also handles so much different to an alu frame, I'm enjoying it

It's the 2020 version... the good year is at an all time low.......

Bike was sold last week to a very happy chap in Jhb.

Couldn't get the front tyre's writing to match the rear ;) so decided to toss them before the sale and slap on some reckon race rubber with tanwalls.

Below last pic before she was boxed and send to her new owner.

Will sure miss the sound of that chris king hub when coasting

Nothing for now, but maybe an enduro rig in the future...

No idea on the grips, stole them from the wife's bike

Hi guys .

I want to beef up my momsen str to be more enduro capable.

1) i want to add more tavel from 120 to maybe 140 or 150 mm with more sag. Just to make it more sensitive and able to take some of the abuse.

I am just afraid that the 69 degree head angle wont be able to handel the longer travel.

2) i would also like to uograde the rims from 23mm rims to 30 mm rims. I am just not sure of it will fit in the frame even with the dropouts all the way to the back.

Would really appreciate it if anyone can give some advice or info on what is possible on this bike

Maybe have a look at the commencal meta ht

Anyone got a sense of minimum rotor size on the rear of an STF?

Im not 100% sure, but I have 160mm on mine and dont see it being able to go smaller

Not sure what setup you are going for, but mine is a bit of a heavier duty trail hardtail style, and just makes you want to go faster, upgraded brakes really quickly as just didnt have enough power, just love the handling etc
