Horizontal is preferred if you're struggling with a bad back or knees, but set-up can help to mitigate any discomfort if opting for vertical.

Being horizontal usually takes less strain off your back and knees as neither are being used to support your weight?

 

I only have back pain after being horizontal if the mattress is too soft

You can get some blue pills for that issue.

Well that is the problem ... it is always hard, and I can't get it soft like my duallie biked riders  :ph34r:

What kind of bike carrier do you use? Which bike fits easiest or must I spend even more bucks?

 

Been down this route and now I have to have two carriers for when it's not 'just about me' and my bike.
