When I see this pic and remember the vibe.........you have to consider doing it again.

The admin is sadly just too much these days.

What a wonderful ride.

Yeah it is a mission, especially with kids. I no longer go down for an extended period but I HAVE to keep doing it and TBH I am not complaining. It is now just part of my life and I work it into the budget. Once the kids are older I will make a holiday of it. I remember as a school lightie having to take school work down every year and do it while down there.

How does suikerbossie en chappies compare to Hekpoort Pass (from the northern side) and / or Klapperkop in PTA?

Suikerbossie is comparable to Hekpoort but I think Hekpoort is longer (I might be wrong). Suikerbossie is a totally different animal from Klapperkop - can't really compare.

For me there is one true comparison to Suikerbossie and that is that leg-wrenching last climb at Suikerbosrand. Not so much in terms of incline and distance but because both are hard climbs on tired legs...

Suikerbossie is not that hard.

Then again, the adrenaline factor of people cheering you and the beers you have on the way up sorta cancels the wind out.   :P  ;)

I remember my first time.

Steel frame

I think 42-23 gearing.

Just powering it up there, slow and steady, if I recall my cycle computer was showing 8km/h. Everytime i was about to come to a stop and spectator ran up to help me along.

Got the formula off WW.  It is pretty widely used.

From there I have just added some climbs I have don along the way to get a more clear picture overall.
