Thought the NZ refs would feature more in the knockouts Brainfart moment on my part, forgot that Owens is Welsh. Me too. He apparently apologised for the photo but I gather that he wasn't considered for the games in any capacity due to it.

Surely he wouldn't have been selected for the Springboks game, so the fact that he had a drink with some Welsh people is moot, because it is the same game that he would be ineligible for. He wasn't considered in any capacity. World Rugby is investigating...whatever that means. Personally do not see anything wrong as I don't think anyone can fault the red card but I guess it was seen as insensitive or whatever.

Now add the insult of this photo in the press of the SA ref that red carded a French player that surly cost them the game.
