A sale is it?

100%, many do this.

Snip

Knowing the original price is sometimes the only way to identify these rip-off sales......

Takealot and one day only are the worst with these "sales."

Sportsmans and Outdoor Warehouse sales don't do this. And a lot of time the current colorway is close to it with the old price on it.

I know this as I have a pet peeve with paying retail price for clothing or gear if an old colorway is marked down. So most of my apparel is bought in Jan or July off the mark down racks.

I can't go to Woodstock my ex lives there. Anything you know of in Southern Suburbs?

haha....i've been to 2 that side. Not sure when they run specials though. But my fav that side is The Aegir Project in Noordhoek (not really SS i know).I also frequent the one in uitsig constantia. The originalin noordhoek is right there where chappies starts basically . They are not the cheapest though...but a lekker place to chill especially on a saturday with the courtyard and other restaurants and live music.

other one is Jack black in Dieprivier < also a nice vibey place..have a look at the pics on their google.

There is also our #BeerRideFriday where we stop at Sunset Beach and frequent a rather well stocked store and enjoy a beer on our commute leg home ...... those beers always go down well!

I went into a rather well-known bike store this weekend with a view to taking advantage of their sale (and in particular their "make an offer" scheme) with a view to acquiring a comparatively cheap road bike for my indoor trainer. They rejected my offer (which I admit was a little bit cheeky) and said to me that the best they could do was a number between R16 K and R17 K. I am somewhat bemused to discover that I can purchase the same bike elsewhere at "normal price" for about R3K less. Which tells me how much more I am normally paying at the particular bike store in question than I could get the same thing for elsewhere…

You buy stuff from the aisle ends in supermarkets don't you

Went to a Safari Outdoor sale last week. Amazing deals offered on some products. One here, one there, all gone before I got through the door. Think they were just the draw cards and shop staff grabbed them when the start gun fired. Found something else, but not that much of a dea, not exactly what I wanted. Still good though. Ended up in a 100 long queue to pay. Half hour later queue still not moved an inch. Decided I had better things to do, put my stuff back, said no thank you and left with cash in my pocket.........then spent the time stuck in the traffic! Never doing something that stupid again. Both stupid!

Sounds like my ex father-in-law who would literally drive 30km to save R2 on a bag of sugar.......
