Out of interest, what does this weigh in this configuration? Vintage bike conversions seem like a hoot.

Have not weigh it,but not light, this is probably Reynolds 025 tubing, heavy but strong, road it in November on a 2 day gravel ride of 173km, and performed without any hassles.

The rat/mullet bike all done and dusted, test ride this morning .... that fork has about 45mm of usable travel.  Enough to make for a comfortable ride on the general gravel routes I ride, not sure how much of that is the 'phat' tyres and how much the fork or a combination. Crap on tar though

That bike evolved into this over time

The frame is too small for me and I've decided to do something different with it again .... 100mm full travel fork, its anyway now running 29" wheels

Paint and decals done, fork painted,  rebuilt with other stantions (those were badly worn)20240831_0915192.jpg.e5dc5c56f5b17242f35ab2f31db6d606.jpg

Thanks as always to my mate Thys the painter, @GrahamW from The Workshop in Alberhoughton and @Wyatt Earp for their invaluable advice and assistance!

Looking at this thread, I am inspired enough to go ahead with my drop bar conversion on my Straight bar gravel.

Just do it mate, a gravel bike deserves drops!

Connected the Rear brake last night, it should be finished by Friday for the coffee ride, will post Before and after pics once it is complete.

Also planning on doing this given the recent trend towards wider and wider tyres.

Struggling to find sram shifters though for some reason.

If you can find a handelbar/stem that fits that slot perfectly, it’d finish the bike off superbly.

I don’t think Mondraker make one short enough 🤔
