eddy Posted July 7, 2020 Posted July 7, 2020 Last year was in the middle of a heatwave; my Garmin registered 43.6. This year it seems the cold-front will be here in time to balance the scales..... We'll be doing it on Saturday. Start time dependent on the temperature, probably around 8.

We're think of a 7am start, no difference in the temp between 7 and 8 tbh.

On Saturday the forecast is 12deg at 7am and 9deg at 8. so start at 7. On Sunday 7 = -1 C; 8 = +1 C. Start at 8.. That's an important difference! Edited July 10, 2020 by 100Tours

How safe is the route to do solo? Should be OK, but watch the traffic on some of the tar connecting sections if you're alone. There should be a reasonable amount of gravel bike traffic over the course too. This is a nice event to ride in a small group though - race the segments, ride the connectors together. It makes a good day out. Rode it last week and we met at least 4 husband/wife couples riding in the area so there is social traffic around too.
Danger Dassie Posted July 14, 2020 Posted July 14, 2020 Thoroughly enjoyed this. Did 88km of the route on Friday with two mates. Love the formulae the crew came up with. Definitely going out to do the full route and have an explore.
