Hi tyre gurus...

Im currently riding an Ardent Race 2.35 on the front of my dual suss and a Crossmark 2.25 on the rear.

I recently changed from a 2.25 Ardent (non Race) on the front to the wider and Race and really enjoy it for its faster steering and better grip.

Question: My Crossmark on the rear is pretty worn and Im considering putting my used but still ok Regular Ardent 2.25 on the rear.

Is anyone using a regular Ardent as a Rear?

Im not that wild about the Crossmark either.

Ps I dont have cash right now for a new tyre...

Oh and usually I prefer same size tyres but my rear triangle is probably too narrow for a 2.35.....

If you can't afford a new tire, have that one and can't swap them, what other choices do you have?

Put it on until you can buy another ardent race for the rear

Yip. Thats todays plan....

Anything will be better than a crossmark, if you don't have any other choice then it's a no brainer anyways ;)

Yea I am semi starting to feel the same. The Crossmark II is horrible. Had sidewall tears on 2 of them in the last 6 months so also semi in the market for "anything else"

Thanks all much appreciated. Havent had any issues but traction not great when standing steep climb.

Cheers!

Could be worth checking your tyre pressure if you're having trouble with traction on climbs.

Are you running tubeless?

Yip. The tyres worn and over a year old so lost most of its grip. I see the Ardent has a better " middelmannetjie" so that should solve the standing climb issue.

I weigh 98kg and run 1.6 bar rear...and 1.1 front on 26mm rims...
