I also rode for years with Indola. There fabric is thick, like super strong. They started looking old, tired, so got fox rangers as well, but they longer, almost by the knee. The thing with baggies is the way it looks when its on your, sometimes they flare, cant really explain it. If i had to look again i would have normal wrestle mania outfit and find non padded skinnier fitting pants to put over mania...

I have the indola and the fox rangers, indola is alot more baggy/flare as you say and the Fox rangers more slim line yet still comfy.

f

Fox inners alot more comfy than the indola inners in my experience

Just curious to know, i had a look at baggies at my LBS and the sales person said to me i am not going to like it because its hot and uncomfortable? How hot do they get or make you? The ones i had a look at all had nice thick liners in........... . What is the main reason for baggies?

So you don't look like a lost roadie on the trails and obviously environment like trees etc. so your Lycra doesn't hook and tear?

And yet MOST people on the trails still wear lycra ....

So are baggies a new fasion trend, or are there real practical benefits ?

I am getting a pair of baggies later in the year (gift from a friend) .... so really wondering about the real world benefits ....

PS - actually surprized at just how many people are asking "why use baggies" .... obviously more than just me wondering about this ....

Pockets are nice.

For me the biggest benefit is an added layer of protection for my budgie and my legs.

I’ve had crashes in the past where the pants took the hit and not my leg. My last crash however missed the shorts and took 30cm x 10cm of skin off my leg. Exposed nerves are not fun.

Just sit at The Dairy Shed on a Saturday morning and watch the middle aged lycra clad cyclists roll through after devouring a slice of carrot cake, 2 muffins and a chocolate Sterri Stumpy to replenish their reserves after having nailed Supertubes, and you'll have all the reasons you need to wear baggies.

I jumped on a pair of those decathlon st100 baggies as well as a pair of the padded undershorts to use with my anatomic baggies.

This place is quite cheap, how is the quality of the products?  Also nabbed a floor pump as my current one only works on schrader valves.

Don't smaak those elasticated waists. Looks like my opagrooitjie's gardening outfit.

I remember my oupa wearing those very short pt shorts and worse old faded rugby shorts around the garden, these are still better than either those.

At least your mamba cant hang out of these lol.

I am fat, elastic is my friend.

Ill get some fancier baggies when i settle in at my goal weight sometime next year.

Like that guy with the boep standing outside the local Spar wolfing down two chocolate eclairs while smuggling a hotdog in his very worn out Lycra shorts.

I puked a little in my mouth.
