In my honest opinion the responsible thing would have been for the event organisers to call it off on Friday evening - it was obvious for anyone with a weather app the probability of heavy rain was unacceptably high! Rock and a hard place for organisers. Especially given that the weather turned out better than predicted. If they cancelled on Friday we would have a long thread on Monday on how organisers are greedy money grabbers who will take your money and cancel on the slightest excuse. Welcome to Cape Town. Nothing much came of the severe weather predictions. As an earlier poster noted, only a bit of rain during the last part of the race.
