That sucks man, I didnt even actually place an order, I enquired about the TopFuel 5 in October or November at a number of places, S&J being one of them, they said no stock is available but they will keep in touch, that was the last I heard from them....

Also contacted Bicycle Line, Kirsten got back to me, gave an ETA on their arrival, they landed about 2 weeks ahead of schedule, but I decided to wait for the 7 instead, she told me I would be looking at March arrival, then come 13 December, she called me, said they have stock, and I got my Green Swamp Monster the following week, I actually feel really *** in a way because you had ordered one before I even started looking at them and I have mine already, but then I ride it and I love it so much that those bad feelings go away 🤣🤣🤣

No worries, i was aware that the green came into stock awhile back, but since i had already been waiting so long, I might as well wait for the ones that we ordered.

Finally, committed and got myself a 2022 Trek Top Fuel 5.

Hi, I am in the market for a new bike.

Have my eye on the trek top fuel 5 and the scott spark 970.

Both are on the sale for the same price.

I am leaning towards the Scott cause of the twin lock system however you do need to replace the tyre's to go tubeless which is a bummer (trek takes this W).

Interested to hear what you guys have to say.

Also if there are any other recommendations let me know.

They also have a 5 Year multi User warranty if it was activated by the first owner if not mistaken. But in my opinion its easier to sell it when it comes to it.

I'd rather go for the Trek if I was you. I've owned the new Spark and I still have a Top Fuel. The Spark has very basic components. The SX/NX gears are terrible compared the Deore that comes on the Trek. The Judy fork is a noodle and don't get me started on the evils of the integrated cable routing on the Spark. Twinlock is, in my opinion, a band aid for suspension that has not been designed properly. Having said that, it is a very nice bike to ride if you're not going to be hitting anything steep or challenging. If I was you, I'd try and squeeze for the Top Fuel 7, which is on sale now. It has a very good groupset, proper sturdy wheels, good brakes, a very good rear shock and a decent fork. It is a bike that can grow with you and help you progress. IMO it just needs a fox 34 or Rockshox Pike and some Deore brake levers and it would be perfect

I got myself the Top fuel 7, I only upgraded the brakes to 4 piston Deore version, otherwise the XR4 tires it comes with is pretty aggressive for the riding I do, I changed to Recon Front and Icon Rear, very capable bike.

I must add the old Scott Genius I had was almost a kilo lighter, but I enjoy the Trek.

And here I was about to say I owned the Trek then the Spark .... avoid the Trek ... sure I had the Friday dud model, worst of all the bikes I ever owned.

Life moves on.  TITAN now offers much better bang for the buck.
