I'm curious to find out if anyone else has experienced this:  I have had an enduring medium level pain on my left side (only left side), artor around the hip for some time now.  If you put your hand on your hips like a Karen at the bank, and then move your fingers slightly into the groin, just in front of the hip.  Possibly ITB related?

It is constant, and some days worse than others.  I am really bad at stretching discipline, but stretches that open the pelvis as well as lower back and ITB stretches make it a bit better, but it never really goes away.

edit: The pain actually wraps around the left side lower back, just above and to the left of upper butt.

Any suggestions?

Depending on your age it could be a multitude of mechanical related referred pain from lower back or SI joint ,a hernia or metastases from prostate cancer .You don,t know ,until you know .Go see a medical professional .Cannot be the Pyga geometry .I have one and it is my Favorited ride

I have had the same issue for years now. It started before I began riding, and has gotten worse.

I have had multiple tests done (bloods for things like rheumatoid arthritis, inflammation markers, etc), xrays, etc by Neurologist and Specialist Physician all coming back clear.

I have been to Biokineticist's, Physio's, Chiro's, etc and only found temporary relief.

I was eventually told by the Specialist Physician (and a Bio prior to that) that the pain is probably caused by my posture and lifestyle (I sit many hours for work, driving and desk), and that although the mountain biking probably hasn't cause the issue, it's not helping.

I was told to strengthen my core significantly, and stretch frequently, preferably by yoga or pilates.

I have recently started the process of trying to strengthen the core, and do some yoga stretches after every ride. No change yet but its early days.

Hope this helps

As others have mentioned, best to seek professional advice.

Could possibly also be a misalignment of the Sacrum which subsequently causes Sacroiliitis (inflammation of one or both of your sacroiliac joints.)

Not mine. He's sharp, cares about his patients with tons of diagnostic acumen. Trust him with my my life actually.

let's face it, asking Dr Google what my symptoms mean always leaves me one click away from imminent death. However, more information is a good thing as it can help me ask better questions, thereby giving any medical professional more info about what I'm sitting with.
