Milkinator Posted August 22, 2022 Share Hi guys, I just purchased this titan but I only noticed afterwards that the rim has a crack/tear... its holding preassure and was fine on a ride... is this something I can just ride on? Looks like the previous owner used some sort of sealant.
Alouette3 Posted August 22, 2022 Share I'd replace. Rim failure could land you at the dentist and the hospital Schnavel, TheoG, Phillippe Coetzee and 2 others

Milkinator Posted August 22, 2022 Share Thanks guys. I bought the bike from "the bike vendor" and they apparently have 30 warranty so hoping he will replace it MTBRIDER1234

Hopefully if you received it as pictured, it was an honest mistake and he will rectify it.
Milkinator Posted August 22, 2022 Share Yea he seems like an honest person, says he didn't notice it but you can see its old sealant, it's like stained a bit yellow. Just hoping he swaps now🤣 MTBRIDER1234
droo Posted August 23, 2022 Share Return to sender. That will blow up at some point, probably an inconvenient one.

nick_the_wheelbuilder Posted September 1, 2022 Share New rim day for sure. If that crack propagates, the tyre could leave the rim in a hurry. Best case scenario it makes a sealant mess. Worst case it causes a crash. Neither option is very appealing.

Don't worry, the resellers on here are very professional and thoroughly check every bike, what's what the massive markup is for! DieselnDust, Headshot, MTBRIDER1234 and 3 others 1
