Let me chip in here. I have had the privilege of taking part in a few real life local races with the athlete in question. All I can comfortably say is that there is a definite discrepancy between his IRL performances and Zwift performances. Will leave it there.

privilege???

6 months for doping, what a joke...

After last week's efforts on my gravel bike I think I may have bought his power meter though ! ;)

I think indoor training should ultimately be a tool for an individual to get fitter for real riding on the road/ trail. Racing IDT will never be a fair playing field so I will never take results there too seriously. Just focus on your own gains and compete against yourself, and keep racing for the outdoors.

I struggled to keep up with Zwift’s pace partner, D. Maria, (2.2W/Kg) today, despite riding at, and above, 3.5W/Kg for the first 10-mins. Does riding a TT bike make a difference when trying to do a group ride.

Promptly turn left and rode by myself for the rest of the hour.

Yes. You have no drafting effect when on a TT Bike.

What Rudolph said ...  The only "mass event" where TT bike / frame is of benefit WITH drafting in Zwift, is in the WTRL TTT races, to my knowledge no drafting effect for all other rides in Zwift with the TT frame.
