Perhaps kid not the right word...21 years old and kicking my butt when riding together. 🤣

I went the extra mile and effort to create a pain cave where all 3 of us can sit next to each other and IDT together. To a degree that is actually quite fun. It is even more fun when all 3 can ride the same route at the same time. But to have 3 individual subscriptions does become quite expensive hence looking for software that offers family plans. We all 3 have smart trainers - so software that interacts with the trainer is a must. As such a mere YouTube video would not quite cut it for us.

Did you get a family deal when buying those 3 x bikes, plus 3 x head units, plus 3 x Smart trainers? /s

Just get 3 flat screens smart tv's - one in front of each bike. Each person can look what they want then.

(But please don't use the "family deal" on TV licenses - borrowing a family members valid TV license if you don't have one, to buy these tv's)

Not sure if you are still angry with Rouvy and/or found a better platform for yourself. Just saying that Rouvy just introduced new family subscriptions - two accounts for 19.99EUR/months, or 5 accounts for 32.99 EUR/month which can give you quite significant savings if you find some friends to join as well. no need to be all located in one "living room", not even the same country.

Hi @lizan Saw that - but my view has not changed. They are ridiculously expensive. Just to compare:

Rouvy Plan for two (duo): $199/year (if you take the "cheaper" annual package). Approx R3800

Fulgaz: Plan for two (also cheaper annual package): $109. Approx R2048

And FulGaz video quality exponentially better (4k streaming (FulGaz) vs 1080P streaming (Rouvy))

Fulfaz you download rides via normal webpage. Rouvy only via their app and I have given up as it crashes 4/5 times (start over required) and is very slow.

I call that quite a difference. Nope - my Rouvy subscription remains cancelled.

I am trying to switch over to mywhoosh and they are trying my patience with HUGE updates but works most of the time and it is free.

I used to be on Rouvy(until the family sharing feature fell away), it will work out cheaper than Zwift if My wife and I use it during winter time.

Can you please check if My Woosh have updated their system to upload to Garmin Connect  (without needed a degree in manually moving FIT files between platforms)

Summer time in the Cape ... FINALLY ... so Zwift is switched off (actually have a few days left on it)

PS - REALLY appreciated the long slogs on Zwift on Saturday.  The trainer makes it "easy" to isolate and work on cadence, or similar, to improve your bag of tricks.  Saturday's WIND had me digging deep into the spining skills acquired during the winter .....

I always record workouts with my Garmin edge as well, so this feature have never bugged me.

Agree - Zwift not family friendly - but I find Zwift sooooo boring - limited routes etc. I subscribe to Zwift every couple of months for one month. Find FulGaz's amazing routes much better. Get to see the world in 4K whilst riding my bike.

I used to be a big Rouvy and Zwift fan.

But mywoosh being free makes it a no brainer for me. I only ever do workouts anyway. The massive updates aren't an issue for me. I just start the app during the day and download the updates long before my workout. I put youtube on my TV and run the app on my laptop and off I go. If I want to pretend to be riding Alp d Huez during my workout I'll find a POV vid of a guy riding it.

Riding indoors still sucks BIG TIME tho.

Touché!

if want to pretend I’m riding the Alpe I find 1980s tdf videos on YouTube and enjoy the cheesy porno music while cranking a 52-13 against a 2% gradient

The Rouvy family plan is still in place, you should have kept it, the current annual subs are for new members only. And then you wait for Black Friday or other annual specials - I paid USD 109 for my current annual subs which includes 2 additional family members using the BF promo code in November even though I only paid in April 2023. I don't download videos as it takes time, streaming work exceptionally well (my FTH line is 25mbps) even with 50 plus riders on same video.

Does anyone other than Zwift have nice racing? On Zwift you can find a race with 100 people in your cat every hour and that (at least for me) makes indoor cycling very far from boring.

Many if not most other platforms do offer group rides, events etc. But yes, none comes close to the sheer rider numbers of Zwift. Although I still find Zwift output numbers to be quite different than other platforms. On many group rides doing 3.5watts - 4 watts/kg, always seeing riders disappear in the distance. Struggle to see how they get to that performance. Also compared to FulGaz/Rouvy at the same settings I can easily on Zwift average 5km/h faster on a flat route compared to FulGaz/Rouvy. Perhaps I am just imagening things - but Zwift seems "easier".
