I joined "THE HUB" in May 2008 smack bang in the middle of the debarcle between a buyer & a seller no names no pack drills.

Subsequently there have been 2 or three more similar kind of deals on this forum.

So my question is will I buy or sell anything here?

How can admin improve things on this space?

Is it not possible to implement a rating system on the hub whereby one can say that a buyer or seller has either paid promptly or delivered the goods as promised. Then a potential seller can decide on how to conclude the deal either by cash or eft and likewise the buyer will also know if he can trust that the seller will deliver and should pay COD or eft.

Whatever you now the gist of what I am trying to say.

If you want a nanny state, and wnat big brother to look out for you, then the internet is no place for you...

I've done more than one 50/50 transaction (in cases where I can't collect), and they've worked out perfectly. 50% up front, 50% on reciept of goods.

At the end of the day you're running the same risk as you do using junkmail, gumtree, ebay or any online classifieds service. I don't think admin needs to do anything, really. If you weight up the amount of transactions happening daily on the hub, versus maybe 5 a year that go wrong, it's not too bad.

I've sold a fair share on the hub, some deals face to face and some I've courierd up country - all went peacy and everyone scored.

just watch out for guys who's first post is a deal to good to be true......

but a rating system like ebay would be a good idea

Its like any transaction, occasionaly a few go bad. just be careful.

As many, many people have said, meet in person, inspect the goods, had over cash. If you are going to trust someone that you met over the internet, with your goods or cash thats up to you.

Don't want a nanny state just want to identify the rogues who try to make off with our hard earned cash.

Did some deals, bought some stuff, no problems. Maybe we should get ratings like ebay as buyers and sellers and use that  is indication if we should be dealing with that person.
