Over the years DSTV has covered a lot of cycling. I doubt it ever made financial sense for what is a limited sportbase.  (marriott and cecil nurse can't be paying much for their ads, wonder if they still get invoiced). I'm guessing there have been cycling fans at DSTV executive, the new french overlords won't care so much.

If the Giro isn't shown, it would be a big marker on the direction it's going.

The Giro has not ever been consistently broadcast LIVE on DSTV

There is a giro d'italia youtube channel that has been broadcasting some of the spring classics. It might be available on that stream via a VPN.

Interesting that DSTV chooses to broadcast La Vuelta Femenina Live but not Giro ... cheaper i.t.o. broadcasting rights?

I don't know what they're doing this year but in previous years they'd not have the Giro live but later in the year they had TF and Vuelta live. The ladies tours are new feature so lets see how their overall broadcast schedule plays out. There is also FIFA World Cup in June into July which will have added to their costs so something else would have to give

How about waiting until Saturday to see if they broadcast Giro, not worthwhile getting your panties in knot now already. They have been notorious for catching a wakeup in the 11th hour so cross your fingers until then.

Really? Pretty sure they've normally aired it in the past. But yes that YT channel has been a welcome surprise

 

Edit: now that I think about it, RAI channel has been used in the past before

You're right It has been on DSTV for a few years,  just not always LIVE coverage. Some years they gave us a 2hr highlights in the evening, sometimes live and 30 min highlights.. RAI will always have it live.

We will just need to wait to listen to Sex on Fire on the rerun.

Could not find the mtb over the weekend on dstv.

All this vpn’s and subscriptions…simple guy, only watch cycling, just want to sit in front of my tv, switch on and enjoy our sport.
