I rode the Eden & G-Spot trails on Sat morning and the Stellenbosch hills are literally crawling with Marathon Pros doing last minute prep and intervals for the Epic.

The most noticeable was the lovely, Loana Lecomte, she tends to catch your eye when she rides past 😇

..you got no pics, it never happened. 🤓

You've seen how fast she rides, I had no chance 🤣

But you did reach zone 6 trying to keep up ...😋

I have done some long rides with a couple of ladies training for CE .... normal working class amateurs .... 100km later if they do an interval UP HILL ... they DROP that ebike ...

D A M N .... if this is "mid pack" ... those top riders are scary fast !!

Cant wait to watch the YT coverage ...

Yolande de Villiers and Tyrone White

Her name isn’t in the SAIDS list of offenders so perhaps the sanction was overturned. If I recall she was pinged for some cardiac medication used to control arrhythmia? I seem to recall an appeal against the ban.

interestingly her teamie was also pinged, for dexamethasone and had his appeal upheld and served 6months.

CAPE EPIC APPLIES LIFETIME BAN AFTER CSA/UCI SANCTION ON DE VILLIERS – TREAD MEDIA

The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has alerted the Absa Cape Epic to an adverse analytical finding from a sample provided by rider Yolande De Villiers during the 2015 event. The analytical report was one of three that confirmed the presence of *hydrochlorothiazide in her sample. As a result De Villiers was sanctioned with a period of ineligibility of 11 months from 31 January 2015 – 30 December 2015.

oh wow thank for you sharing old news, Have you found her name and case on the SAIDS website yet?

I have found her and her team mates names on the Cape Epic start list so maybe Babse is right and the Epic's new owners have thrown out the life time ban because maybe they realise they' wouldn't have any triathletes and precious few rugby players to promote their event?
