TitusTi Posted November 28, 2006 Share Some of the boys on this Forum will have you drawn and quartered for less but yes, I to like compact frames, they look more aggresive!
AndreZA Posted November 28, 2006 Share To me the best looking frame, don't know about performance as I have not or proberbly will never ride them, is TIME and LOOK (585 and 595). I like the thin old-school looking tubes.
KlapperKnop Posted November 28, 2006 Share AuctionLamb: Depending on your budget! If it is limitless go for an European Frame; if not go for a Far-East frame.I find European Frames to be very expensive (Eddy Mercx; Pinnarello; Colnago etc.). However there is no compromise when it comes to quality. Frame also last a few decades. Generally European Frames come in around R20K upwards. Any Taiwanese frames comes in much cheaper (whether carbon or alu). Quality is not bad either but I am not sure whether it will last? Frame prices are between R7k - R15K
Spinnekop Posted November 28, 2006 Share I like the composite type frames.....Trek and Cannondale looks too 90's. My bike is a compact......Drops 2cm from front to rear. Tha Cannondale Synaps has almost the same geometry as the Giant's whith their HUGE slopes.... Just my 2c.......

linnega Posted November 28, 2006 Share Spidey - you really need to learn your terminology. The SystemSix is a SEMI-compact, the Giants et al are compact. People do get hung up on where frames are built. The only significant impact seems to be on price. Some Euro frames may be prettier, but in general the quality of carbon frames coming out of the East and Taiwan in particular is outstanding. GoLefty!! Posted November 28, 2006 Share Spidey - you really need to learn your terminology. The SystemSix is a SEMI-compact' date=' the Giants et al are compact. [/quote'] The correct terminology for a Cannondale in smaller sizes is "Sloping" geometry. Slopingis available in the regular sizes but Compact i typically only XS,S, M & L. Sloping is called so because the headtubes are longer to compensate for Internal headsets.

Delgado Posted November 28, 2006 Share Anyone have an opinion on Cervelo? I've got my eye on a Soloist carbon. Great option as you will probably ride a new bike every 6 months as this is roughly the rate at which they get recalled.....????
E1A104 Posted November 28, 2006 Share I have a bent & battered and very pranged old Viner frame that you can free, gratis and for nothing - Even in it's current state it's bound to last longer than the Soloist, unless of course you enjoy rebuilding your bike ........
