Black Celebration must me their best album yet.

I bought the album on vinyl two years ago, remastered but it was a princely sum.

Their sound matured over the years but I started losing interest. The simplicity - not overly synthesized stuff is what I enjoyed most.

Glad I got to see them live in the "old" days

Find a dark stretch of road. Turn off the head lights. Hit play.

Based on what you mentioned in your last post about the "old" days, I must've acquired a taste for Depeche Mode in their over-synthed maturity, viz  a 'collectors edition'of their 7th album, Violator.

Must say though, Question of Lust is a Depeche Mode I haven't heard before, but its damn good. Thanks! :)

I've always enjoyed Depeche Mode, although I find their latest stuff a little harder to appreciate and listen to more often.

If I'm in the mood for DM, these days I usually gravitate towards Construction Time Again. An amazing album with so many sampled sounds everywhere. Also saw a documentary about them a little while back which detailed a lot around the making of Construction Time amongst other things.

Huge admiration for this band - one of the few things coming out of Aus (of course ACDC is one of them) and NZ that I really like!

Very good live version of the song and every time I listen to it, hard to believe it was released in 1986!

Here's another version often overlooked. Superb. Good as the Stones? Good as the FBB? You decide...

I dunno man.

Once she tears in to the chorus my toenails curl back.

Some songs are maybe just not meant to be messed with .

The thing with many of the Stones tunes is that the voice of Jagger makes them what they are, I recon if we had him in this modern era with some of the modern bands ,we could label him as a great indie voice.

So, maybe an indie artist with a very unique voice might just nail a good cover .
