Spinnekop Posted January 10, 2007 Share Hey Minty. I bet you we can make this thread go for 20 pages....... (And still the agro motorist will be king!!!)
MWdeJager Posted January 10, 2007 Share Exactly my point Spinnekop. End of story, jy wen OK. Enough said.
Bateleur1 Posted January 10, 2007 Share Observation: SA motorists rather use hooters than breaks. Man with no name Posted January 10, 2007 Share Nog 'n Suid Afrikaanse padgebruiker wat sy learners moes gefail het. Spidey, stem 100% saam. Veral in Johies! Ek haat dit as mense agter my hoot, skrik gewoonlik my gat af. Soos Microsoft. Vriendelik.
NotSoBigBen Posted January 10, 2007 Share OK so I was obviously way of the mark here, it is ok for juniors to show the finger (that was my original complaint but yeah whateva as the kids say these days!).
Breeze Posted January 10, 2007 Share Guys - I know exactly who you talking about and know the boy very well. He previously rode for Mr P and now Harmony. I will take it up with him and his dad.

Spinnekop Posted January 10, 2007 Share No...No....Ben....You are not reading well this morning. Ask Mr. de Jager to help. Never in all the replies did I or ANYONE said it was right to show finger. I just know the reason why he did it.....But that does not make it right. It is the fact that something like this have upset you.For the same reason I can go off on how the Vets in the Bruce group have pointed fingers at rude motorists.......And I will get the same response..... So....why bother complaining. If it is a young rider......Senior businessman...whats the difs. Anyone happy about it? Can we stop it? Does it matter at the end of the day? Does it matter to you? In the end that Junior/Senior/Vet/"what ever" has to sit at night and figure out if what he did today was for the greater good.......his own health.... O hell....I am talking to much..'Nough said.4 pages....not bad....
NotSoBigBen Posted January 10, 2007 Share Breeze - The one showing the finger was in the Mr Price kit (darkish skinned fellow) - the chappie in the Harmony kit was somewhat ahead (seemed stronger?).

MintSauce Posted January 10, 2007 Share It is bloody rude of a motorist to expect a cyclist to move out of his lane simply because he wants to get past. Disclaimer: Quoting you linnega, but none of my comments are directed at you specifically!!! No offence intended to anyone...just sharing my opinion. It's bloody rude of a cyclist traveling at 15/20/30/60km/h not to move over for a vehicle travelling at 60/80/100/120km/h. He might have as much of a right to use the road as the vehicle, but if it's too much trouble to move over to make life a bit easier for a fellow-roaduser then said cyclist needs to learn a few things about co-existence. Kind of like the driver who refuses to give any other vehicle a gap, but wants one the next time he has to get on the highway....can't people see that it's a GIVE-AND-TAKE WORLD! And if anyone is about to reply with the childish argument about car-users not caring about cyclists, which is the weakest argument on the planet, let me say that i believe firmly in the concept of "Pay it forward"(Go see the movie by the same name if you haven't yet) Do onto others as you want done onto yourself because trying to get payback will do nothing but aggravate an already hostile situation. Being nice even if somoene is trying to drive you off the road might not make the world a better place right now, but it does make you a better person! If you can't understand this concept, you are shortsighted

ladyfly Posted January 10, 2007 Share BigBen, I agree with you. The youngster was obviously struggling to keep his bike straight, trying to open his gel or for whatever reason. Then he has the nerve of getting upset when a motorist tries to prevent an accident. I'm sorry - to me that is just not right. Yes, I agree with Spinnekop too - there are many times when motorists love lying on their hooters instead of doing something to prevent accidents. However, I still feel that BigBen has a valid point. If anyone knows who the young cyclist is, I hope they give him a good piece of their mind.
TNT1 Posted January 10, 2007 Share Ok sorry guys I'll ask admin to delete it then! Obviously not an important observation. Perhaps you guys should go back to 'nite nite' or Shimano vs Campy threads for your entertainment for today! So.... Did they have Campy or Shimano?
