[/quote'] Yep, I've been on the chopping block a few times the last couple of months - to cut cost. But let me not get started on the logic of that. For my (rather mediocre) salary I do the software development, organise website hosting, server/exchange administration, all techie BS, basically if it falls within the category of either being a computer, printer, cellphone or PDA, I'm expected to fix it. Ok, now fire me - and get individual people to cover all those bases, what's that gonna cost you? At the end of the day you have a software developer costing you maybe R2000 a month. Logic, some people just don't have it.

Been there!! Not lekker!! Except that I stayed with the other company! Lots of legal stuff and a nightmare. Be glad you are in the startup but avoid anything that smells fishy! Just check.. but you worked for company x, now you work for company y. Company x can claim that you absconded. Thats what happened where I worked. They cant force you to change company - therefore your leave stuff should stay the same.

So before the Christmas holidays he gives me a spec for a feature, and I know its gonna be moerse complicated, very tricky, calculating ratios and percentages up and down treeviews etc. Anyway, I put off doing it because I'm literally scared of the complexity. So this Monday I klap it and put my all into it, and today I finish it, works PERFECTLY according to the specs. I send my boss the new EXE and database for him to check out. Ja, he says it works. 10 minutes later, he mails me an "additional" spec that he just thought up, that COMPLETELY changes how I did this feature, I'll have to redo the whole module. I told him that this was unacceptable. You can't change the specs sommer just like that, ****, the module was completed 10 minutes ago! Am I being unreasonable? Azonic Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 Not as complicated as that. The whole company, X and Y is basically the same thing, just split into "wings. They shuffle you around as they please, makes no difference at the end of the day really.

Do they just print the money as they need it so that we can borrow it from the banks and slave away our lives working for some or other 'boss' so that we can pay our monthly debt? I'm also in IT and there's more 'Chiefs then Indians' and most of the 'Chiefs' haven't got a cooking clue of what is going on other then to attempt to steer the boat. They haven't got ANY technical knowledge or background other then being a ****. I'm out of here, before a 'know it all provides' a sarcastic comment. O yes; and your boss is **** from the huge **** pool!

Or start a company and get your own gimps to bugger around so they know YOU'RE the boss. Problem solved. Not sure if it's ever resolved anything, but I sure do feel better afterwards! especially if it was lollipop lounge that u went to
