I was greeted by a roadie this morning on my ride. What's more he actually stopped at the red light and chatted to me on my mtb!  Whatever next! Wink

Jokes aside - whether we like it or not roadie or mtb - we are perceived as a community of cyclist and anything that we do reflects on us as as a group.

So to the chaps on Mount Street (Bryanston) this am - thanks! Clap

If you are in my are I would do the same.

But the most amazing thing I did see this morning was a BMW using an indicator. He was driving over the circle instead of around it but atleast he was indicating.

I have a bit of a problem.I am a roadie that sometimes commute during the week with my Mtb?So what to do...should I just take the safe option and not greet anybody??

Hey...i was one of the roadies smiley4.gif (even though I'm a MTB'er at heart) this morning...but it was Shaun the Butcher who was the really friendly one commenting on your bright jacket and backpack. He's a legend!

Saying hi and having a chat shouldn't be lauded, it should be stock-standard. Have a lekker day!

If it was Cyclelab, then he is safe. According to another thread, they cannot be held responsible for individuals' actions.Embarrassed

To all CycleLab club members, please do  not try and burn me at the stake.

Hahaha had something similar on saturday morning, Im a pure roadie at heart (hit the trails on the mtb once a week). My old man is 55 (from the era where men were men lol) and ever since i started riding we Always wave or say hi 2 ANY other cyclist.

Riding to the EPR we passed some MTBers on the trail past ball and bucket driving range, lifted our hands and said "MORNING" the 1 dude looked at the other with this serious confused look, a few seconds later we hear this faint 'morning' hahahaha was the funniest thing.

glad 2 c we not the only roadies who say hi to ANY other cyclist

Hey, OB is the nicest, friendliest dude on a bike you will ever meet. His reputation is completely unfounded, and completely undeserved.... (ok, maybe not completelyWink)

Whatever next?! I bet you he was wearing a helmet too and riding in single file before he stopped!

I went out on a Cyclelab group ride on Saturday morning and realised why it is that roadies don't greet... they're too busy concentrating on staying alive, that was my experience anyway Wink  Taxis, traffic, skinny wheels... it was all a little overwhelming Tongue
