inside info in Tour Durban , Engela Conradie was dropped on the first hill, 15 km from start and used the elite men's bunch to catch up again, and she was disqualified from the race, Lets see if thats in her write up.

Just some inside info on the "real" story behind the DQ of Engela.

Overheard officials apologising to her (the proline team) team-manager at the prize-giving (think its marissa's husband?) saying that the DQ ruling was a wrong call from the comissaire and that the decision was withdrawn! ClapClap  Apparently she did not chase back with the men but on her own.

Don't know what the whole story was but guess there are alot of people with red faces now!! Hehe Wink

Ja, i see her late summer form kept only for one race. Thats amazingly pathetic. Probably only engela who can thing that logical. The excuse for this weekends races is probably that it is early winter, which would make it a new season. She has to adapt to it first, maybe the last race in winter she will hit some form again.

Hey Froggie,

It's amazing (well a little embarrasing actaully) what interresting information comes up when you compare your IP information to say... ehmmm... errrr.... Daredevil or Engela Conradie's!!!Embarrassed

Speaking of Daredevil...
Some Classic self promotion from the past!!!!<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Everyone is talking about the ladies teams at the Tour but I think a big congrats must go out to all the individual ladies who was there aswell and manage to rattle the cages of the "big teams" from time to time.  For example Engela Conradie riding for USN/Rudy Project/Kuota taking second in stage 1 TT.  She is only coming back from injury now and this is only her second race back after she needed to take 5weeks of her baike completely.  To be only 20 odd seconds behind Anke on a TT stage like that takes abit of VASBYT!! She is not even close to her top form yet...I think we can expect big things from her..... And then she manged a break away on stage 3 too.  Well done girl!!!
I think the teams need to go back to the draw board and re-think their tactics if people riding individual can challenge them????

That is very true that she (Engela) always has been a brilliant time trail specialists but if you look how she evolved as a cyclist over the last few years I think she is one of the best climbers the country has ever seen and can climb away from the very best?.Unfortunately she is a very poor sprinter and that is her down fall for not getting those podium spots?.But she is and always have been one of the top tour riders and if she can get her form back I think she is going to be a force to reckon with?Unbelievable how she can manage to get that much power out of that small body?.Must be something to do with raw talent?.Probably the most talented rider on the circuit but bad-luck and injuries has hampered her progress from time to time.....<?:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /> [/quote'] Oh wait, don't forget to add cramping to the bad-luck and injuries!!!!!

This is the funniest ever!!!!http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_219.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/36/36_11_6.gifhttp://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_72.gif
