All depends what you intend doing in 24hrs, if you want to do as many laps as possible i.e ride competitively then forget doing any kind of racing for at least 2-3 weeks. However if you intend to do a few laps then chill for a bit and have a sleep later then get up and do some more it won't be too bad. Some people have been known to ride for a bit then leave and go to a party and then come back the next morning and carry on haven't they Jules?

And you're wrong - 24 hours solo, geared or not, is pure cycling heaven!

I agree but his Sabie X would be hell if he gave it everything in a solo 24hr a week before.

The event has grown too large for Northern Farm 2. Better camping grounds and facilities 3. More exciting "real" MTB trails 4. More secure for cyclists 5. More controlled environment ? This year dont miss the "Bicycling 24-Hour' date=' by Omni-Motion"[/quote'] I don't recall any shower facilities at Rietvlei?
