Cyclist collides with car

I've got a slight problem with the caption "Cyclist?collides with?car"...

That guy is not a cyclist - he is some-one who commutes on a bicycle or uses a bicycle for work purposes. There is a difference...

Can I go and fetch a ladder that reaches up to that horse?

Dankie Mud - maar jy weet wat ek bedoel...

Everytime I hear on the news that a cyclist has been in some or other event, I get the picture of a helmeted, Lycra clad rider on a proper racing/MTB bike...

I know what you are saying, but I disagree. If I take my flashy bike for a spin to the shops, dressed in my plakkies and shorts and a car runs me over, in wich group will you class me?

No. He is still a cyclist. Doesnt matter if he rides an old bike to work or not. Do we all belong to a "special'' group just because we ride flashy bikes?

I don't think the flashy bikes make "cyclists" a "special group", but the flashy lycra certainly does.! Wink

I hope the fella's bike gets sorted out ...

Sorry to interrupt the debate but I just wanted to add this to my orginal post.

"The Getz was hit by a truck, and it spun 180? and hit the cyclist."

So the title of the thread should then read "Truck hits car which then spins 180 degrees and collides with cyclist"

That bike doesn't look roadworthy. The baggage hanging from the handlebar doesn't help either.

Those were the Air-Bags that activate on Impact!!!LOL

A Hubber asked me to post this on his behalf.

Accident on Lakefield Avenue. Luckily no casualties. The rider is the guy on the right.

His bike is a badly damaged but fortunately for him the kind Hubber has offered him a new wheel.

awwww that's a great hubber to help out with the wheel!!! glad the guy is ok - it's never nice to read about these things :(
