Taps Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 They just need a month where everyone boycotts them and cancels' date=' then we see what happens.[/quote'] Baby boom? OK, I'm outta here.Taps2010-03-01 09:00:31
mikkelz Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Live English Premier League football. That's what I pay for. Oh, and the Tour de France isn't half bad. Nat Geo, Nat Geo Wild, Discovery, BBC Knowledge and Animal Planet are also worth it for me. Other than that, what a load of rubbish (repeated, repeated, repeated)!
Mudsimus Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 They just need a month where everyone boycotts them and cancels' date=' then we see what happens.[/quote'] People can threaten all they like but this will never happen. They need their fix everynight. Like all the uptight tannies threatning to cancel their dstv if they start the porn channel...yeah right. They will get withdrawl symptoms after the first episode of villa rosa they missed.
ASTANA Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 R630 ?? So a R130 increase ?? Compare that to ESCOM price increase and its a bargain. f'ked.
raptor Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Would be much better if you could choose which channels you want and only pay per channel
gremlin Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 They just need a month where everyone boycotts them and cancels' date=' then we see what happens.[/quote'] Baby boom? OK, I'm outta here. Baby boom? See you remembered that after all that load shedding we had.
gremlin Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 R630 ??So a R130 increase ??Compare that to ESCOM price increase and its a bargain. f'ked. Thats with PVR.
gremlin Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Would be much better if you could choose which channels you want and only pay per channel +1 for Pay per channel.Because the other bouquets they got just give you crap channels anyway, so you can't relay downgrade to those.
ASTANA Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 If they decide to do the per channel thing they will make it so expensive that you would rather want to take the package in any case. I guess they would have a minimum amount of channels you must take or some default channels plus your selection or something like this. Either way - it will be better than what we sit with now. LOADS of crap on other channels with a very few channels making it worth while and SPORT -- aah the sport
dman2 Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 I don't have dstv, so I've probably got the details wrong. But from what I read the increase is R30 or 6% and last increase was a year ago.... seems pretty standard. Seriously a poll was created for this? And who is going to vote "Good", ever on price increase?
tmstiles Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Ditched DSTV a year ago and replaced it with an uncapped ADSL account, now get all the progs i want, plus all the sport from BBC using a british proxy. Can honestly say i have never missed DSTV one little bit
kosmonooit Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 ditto above but it would be nice if one could find local cycling programmes on the torrents ... or on demand at a nominal subscription .Never had DSTV, although I have been forced to pay SABC TV licence, I never watch it at all if fact would sooner take a slide down the edge of a razor blade.
Wheelsuck Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 How much do u pay for the subs if u have PVR, was thinking of it but guess with Eksdom and Petrol and the subsequent consumer hikes, that's off the list.
Stretch Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 to be quite honest, mnet has always provided me with the requisite sport matches, occasional movie or series, and ktv for the kids. Not that we watch much TV - but what it offers is enough. People often tell me "why not pay that extra 230 odd and you'll get everything" - the reason - cos i'll bee paying 230 bucks for repeats!! so i'll happilly pay my R270, sorry, R285 from 1 April
Guest Big H Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 Employer pays for the DSTV..... has already been paid for 12 months in advance
Thug Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 unfortunately there is no viable alternative and until there is DSTV have a captive market.
