Nice that the shift paddle is a bit bigger - on freezing cold mornings with thick gloves I often slip when trying to shift to a lower gear.

I think it is....U...G....L....Y.....Tongue

Maybe the rear derailer has a little sex appeal....but that's about it!!

And if Scalpel's Sram gears did not slip that much, he would have won the sprint at the Lost City race....

Maybe the SRAM didn't want to be fitted to a Cannondale so it was trying to jump off the bike!!Big%20smile

Shimano must be crapping their pants....I like it! Thumbs%20Up

Capagnolo I think appeals to a different market, so I don't think they have anything to worry about.

Was discussing this group with a cycling-techno-geek friend after we saw pics of the prototype. Looked at that casette and we both thought...."How come noone's thought of that before...?"

THe cluster is great, until you are the type that wants to change gear ratios on the sly, or you have a habit of wearing on gear down, and only want to replace that cog.

But for the plug and play generation it is very cool.

This is a typical statement made by a prejudiced person....... why on earth should Shimano be sh!tting themselves. With their innovative flair for new developments they are years ahead of SRAM and kempekker !!!!!!! Only have to look at the TDF where only ONE team had SRAM. The other two component manufacturers each had 10 teams represented. Only reason why kempekker had 10 teams represented was the natural bias toward continental representation.

I wonder if those windvane paddles will affect directional stability. The bike's front wheel may lift off the ground if you attempt to shift at speed!!!!!!!

I'm not prejudiced Oom H. I just don't particularly like Shimano, just like you don't like Campy.

And what innovations have they come up with in roadcycling in the last 5yrs? All they've done is refine their current designs.

Sram has taken a fresh approach and introduced REAL innovations that noone else even thought off. They did the same in mountainbiking and as in that instance I think Shimano is going to be playing catch-up for a few years.

Just my opinion.....later Oom Big%20smile
