That fooled me for a second. Those are standard bladed spokes, twisted to disguise them, with some barbs added before building. For a minute I thought they were real doringdraad whees. Nice trick, I must try it.

That reminds me of a repair that was done to my Race Lites when we were in Blyde River on the Great Mpumalanga Bike Ride. I broke two spokes, so the Aussie Mechanic took two normal spokes and braided them together in the middle. The wheel ran true for the remainer of the 200 km we had to ride.
