Ja, but this time its not the UCI investigating, its the FBI and the IRS. They could care less about cycling. Compared to baseball, cycling is a minor league sport in terms of money, yet that hasn't stopped them from taking down two of the biggest names in baseball history.

Would UCI/Verbruggen/McQuaid/Prudhomme etc put their jobs/positions/businesses/events in jeopardy by busting him? Unlikely. A federal agent in the US, however, looking to further his career with a Big Fish prosecution...

You should read "Bad Blood" by Jeremy Whittle.a very interesting book as well.

Imo professional sport is full of cheating - from match fixing in cricket to cycling dopers. Greed for money drives it. The big issue here is that the US Postal sponsorship was federal money, in other words American taxpayers' money. If proved that they used it to fund a doping program, the implications are huge. In the case of a cycling team, there must be a lot of witnesses, it will be difficult to keep them all quiet. The evidence to back up their stories will be the 1999 samples.Lance will probably end up blaming everything on Bruneel - thats what his friends are for, no?

I have my I-told-you-so list ready and waiting, and some of them date back to the last century. :rolleyes:
