Chaps, I am thinking of putting a riser bar on my SS, currently have a rather narrow flatbar on it.

What handling changes should I expect?

That depends on how your current setup is.

Do you still have a spacer or two stacked below your stem that you can remove and lower your stem should you want to / need to get the level of your grips and handle bars where your current setup is?

Wider is nicer BTW .... with wider bars you will have better control in the rough and on a SS will have more leverage when grinding out on those mother climbs.

win win ....

Jip. I have a spacer or two that can be removed.

Currently the riser is moer of a wide, will trim it down a bit. Going to match the color scheme of the rest of the bike nicely (that's all we really care about isn't it?)

I tried the 810mm AMX flat bar from Loaded on my 26er. I have wide shoulders but it was too wide and my lower back could not take it. Cut it down to 760 and it's perfect!

Now when I climb on my geared bike with a 680mm, it feels wrong

810mm  I said wider is nicer, not barge poles

Also running 760mm and it feels good .... actually looking for another 760mm myself .... have anything collecting dust at home you want to get rid of?

Yeah that length was a bit overkill but I tried. Why not buy a loaded bar and cut it shorter. It has cutting lines on the handlebar especially for that. Edited by Wil6
