Bibs all the way! I've got a pair of First Ascent, Specialized and Giordana. The Specialized and Giordana bibs rock. FA isn't terrible but doesn't compare to the other two.

I hated how the normal short hooked on my seat every time I sat back down after getting out of the saddle. At the end of the day you spend more time puliing up your pants than doing anyhting else.

Get a pair of bib shorts, you won't be sorry.

I much prefer bibs, Tumbleweed, I use a pair of old baggies that I've cut the inner out of, or find Enduro baggies, they're the best, and I wear them over my tights.

Have ridden with pants and bibs, and i prefer pants but i am in the minority, my preference is Naleni pants although the elastic stitching can be suspect. I also have Assos bibs and First Ascent bibs

As Spinnerkop states different cycling shorts whether bib or normal suit different individuals. Not sure about trying them out though, what shop is going to allow you to return shorts after you have ridden them a few times which you have to do to see if they suit you.

I did the same to my First Ascent baggies…well, I removed the inner (has press studs), and use a normal bib underneath. Very comfy.

Not everyone

but you (who so far are the only person who doesn't say bibs) didn't come onto the thread and hurl abuse nor has anyone flamed you for dissagreeing... something is wrong! ;)

I used to prefer shorts to bibs but eventualy overtime got used to bibs and now prefer them.

Intial feelings with bibs was something similar to what I imagine "camel toe" feels like. Bibs definetly help keep the padding up where it belongs and this helps to prevent chafing. Also you dont have the problem of the waist sliding down or having a waste string tied around your waist like some shorts.
