bored girl Posted October 24, 2007 Share ok i have so far been lucky not to get a puncture (or i have but my beloved dr sludges have saved me) and the one thing i am always freaking out about is standing on the side of the rd and not be able to pump up my tyre to the right pressure....so a very caring friend of mine gave me his spare bomb adaptor so i got one and i carry it with on races (only mtb ones so far) but my pump is stuck to my bike anyway i have been a complete idiot in the last 2 weeks as i have forgotten everything either in the car or at home or somewhere else and ended up praying to the cycling god to spare me from a puncture..... Tjommies Posted October 24, 2007 Share My pump is now permanently in the bottom draw. I've been carrying two bombs with me whenever I cycle. Have not yet had the opportunity to use it for myself (I guess I'm in a spot of bother when it does happen!) but have been able to help out a couple of buddies. Thug Posted October 24, 2007 Share Generally only carry bombs, however, when I use my Camelbak Mule I needed to fill it up somehow so include my pump.
RodTi Posted October 25, 2007 Share All this talk about "bombs" etc... You think ol' Big Brother the C of the I of the A is checking us out right now? Heaven forbid one of us goes and says something stupid like "Jihad"!! Sorry. Actual question - how long can a 'bomb' cannister last?I'm assuming they don't leak or anything? I've had 2 for more than a year now, on account of me not having to have used them. The one is still as is, in my camelbak. The other, I've already screwed into my Moskito applicator, i.e. it's 'seal' has been broken... figured I'd save some space. Question though - I'm assuming the one I keep in the camelbak is still fine, but what about the one inside the applicator, that has already been 'punctured' - surely that might lose some of its gas over time? How long can the cannisters be safely kept?Anyone?

Always best to try it on somebody else's bike..if it goes wrong you can only say sorry. But if it goes wrong on your bike then u say @#$%....
