What to do when a dodgy character cycles past you on a 50K bike

  1. 1. What do you do?

    • You adopt the attitude of N.M.P(Not My Problem) and ignore it
      5
    • You follow him from a distance and attempt to call the cops while you tail him
      11
    • Chase him down and tell him to stop and then you grab his front brake HARD at 40km/h.... and return the bike to the race....

@ChickenRun4Me I'd be pretty upset if you tried to pull this k*k with me! And yes I do look like a dodgy oke and yes I do ride a bike that it looks like I shouldn't.

I suppose this is the more PC way of putting it :)

okay the girls version, more brains and less testostirone

1. cycle up to the guy and wow his nice bike

2. ask where he got it because you happen to look for a bike JUST LIKE THAT

3. ask him if he does not perhaps want to sell, you will give him R2k or whatever

4. hopefully he falls for it, buy it

5. try and get his number because you may want to phone him if your friend is interested in the same sort of bike

5. post on the hub under stolen bikes and track the owner, hopefully the owner is not too much of an idiot and will reimburse you

6. once the bike is with the owner get the cops (reason, otherwise the bike may be taken and recirculated into the stolen goods market)(if 5 above fails with either tracking down or getting reimburdsed though hand the bike to the cops)

If it is not yours then forget about it. Is it worth getting stabbed for someone else's bike that is probably insured anyway? If it is not insured then they are just stupid or they can afford to self insure

'Cept I think that very few people would be able to ride you down to "ask some questions" about the bike. So the "ride after him" suggestion still applies.

If you think you've got grounds and are brave enough then get involved. Sounds like the odds would be in your favour on this one being stolen, but be prepared to be wrong and/or battered if your approach isnt so subtle.

You can trace the owner through the race no.?

Is this the suspect in question?

No chop, he specifically said he had a race number...

Was it a dodgy character or a darkie character? Did he have a knife in his pocket? One has to be a judge of character to be able to discern these things. Have you seen who are driving all the new M3's these days? Scaly looking chaps...

Should have offered him R100 and swopped bikes and race numbers, then chased him and see how well HE does in the race for his life...

If it was a SASeeding number board you can SMS SAS & the Board number to 32439, it will give the rider identification and medical details....

This is a rather disturbing thread!!

(1) Not too many of you gives a sh!t!! about stolen bikes. I sincerly hope it does not happen to you....

(2) You would rather not get involved...Well, way to go!! Typical SAffrican...

(3) "it probably insured" is no reason not to take action or to look the other way!

don't be part of the problem - be part of the solution!
