  1. Hey all...any of you out there have a digital camera and want to record some video as a helmet cam? Well I did and after much searching found this... http://www.google.co...kxwE7YDvV9V0oog Now, the only place I can find to buy it in SA is here... http://www.wantitall...ra-mount/All/p1 Anyway thats kinda pricey, but it looks pretty cool I reckon. I think I will still reinforce it somehow though... Has anyone made their own similar gadget version thingie by any chance?
  2. Yeah...take price + 10%, then add vat to that number (14 or 15%). Pretty sure that's how it is calculated.
  3. V happy with my 305 and can't say it has ever done this to me But then again I have only used the 305 so can't compare to the 500. I did ride Karoo to Coast with it (Smart recording) and the battery held up with my 7hr9min ride
  4. Forerunner 305 http://www.nivo.co.za/#buy~garmin.forerunner.305.gps.enabled.fitness.watch~p12281 and http://www.easygis.co.za/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=126_7&products_id=19 Decent prices. Dunno if you will beat the Nivo price unless u get from CRC maybe.
  5. Yeah, agreed! Did you watch the 2003 Rampage DVD with the Cedric Garcia interview? Hi is just as legend and chilled it seems
  6. My opinion a little bais because I have one. But I like it
  7. us geologists use Vics Vaoprub around exposed areas close to the bush line...seems to have worked so far
  8. I'm v happy with my Garmin Forerunner 305... It is well priced now (search online I reckon) and then you do get the GPS functionality as well. And it is compatible with the cadence sensor and foot pod for running. Some people don't dig the battery life (around 3.5 hours when recording HR and GPS data every second), but I rode 7hrs in Karoo to Coast (just put it on Smart Recording) and no worries. Oh and HR strap is comfortable enough too. Anyway, hope it helped a little.
  9. Yeah...the 1/4 turn back is NNB... Over torquing bolts/etc can actually (in some cases) cause them to loosen more easily. But a decent torque wrench is a lifetime investment anyway
  10. Are the bicycle torque wrenches even rated to 40 Nm?
  11. Natural Selection in a few words...You stupid, you die
  12. I swear they were that price when I made the post...
  13. WOOT...rep from Alligator was in my LBS this afternoon and they have new green hoses with fittings Should be fitted on Monday Awesome!
  14. Yeah, HUGE pity...I need one 203mm and one 185 mm in red... Will match spoke nipples, pedals, rebound screw thingie, jockey wheels and cassette
  15. If I were running 160mm rotors I would DEF get these... http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/alligator-windcutter-disc-rotor-colour But for the "bling effect"...I really like to look of the wind cutters, and these are awesome in diff colours
  16. First trail looks NICE Just a little crowded...I have to go ride there next time I am in CT...would like to just session it the whole day ... but LOT of riding uphill over n over
  17. I just had to replace me G3 203mm rotor...R400 later I was also wondering about the Alligator, but my bike mechanic friend reckons the G3 gets better power out of the brakes.I think he also mentioned something about pad life. Anyway, dunno if that helps much.
  18. Started taking Glutamine (USN as it was a spur of the moment purchase) abour a week before Karoo to Coast... Now granted I had only ever ridden 60km on dirt before and I was riding on my new 15kg 160mm travel all mountain Specialized Enduro... I took LONG to finish...BUT I had NO cramps, NO muscle pain after the race (even next day)... I am convinced the Glutamine works. It really helps to prevent muscle damage during training as well. It is an "anti-carbolic amino acid" so basically (if I got this right from my GF who knows these things) it is good for you (ok, I forgot the more scientific explanation, but I'm a geologist, not a zoologist ). See this thread http://www.thehubsa....4579-glutamine/ Cheers all
  19. OK...so went to LBS and weighed it... 15.06 kg with saddle bag (2 tubes and levers) and water bottle
  20. very big! And if it is a Specialized then it is Godzilla big! My M Enduro seems huge
