  1. Yeah dude, making it as blind as possible makes it way more fun for all Look, loads of us know most of the stuff so it's never completely blind, but wish it could be
  2. Make it blind, way more fun for all anyway
  3. I hear those iTime okes are dodgey. Something about yellow bikes and the other oke doing a lot of running lately? ????
  4. Ya'all need to mention that AMS is NOT the same product as Bike Shield, Armour Ride etc. Those are more general purpose scuff and scrape for larger area coverage. AMS is like ... IDK, something nigh indestructible for exceptionally high wear areas (chainstay for duckfoot rub etc) where those others will just abrade through. So to the OP, just ask yourself what you want from the protection. As it turns out, you might want a combination of both.
  5. Yoh dude....angry much? But I guess each to their own. Definitely a good few places where it has been invaluable on my bike, namely non-drive chainstay.
  6. Get the clear...havent found something to beat it for high wear areas. It's certainly not, IMO, a complete frame protection thing.
  7. Just get the generic from CWC... https://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/marvel-reverb-frame-protection-kit
  8. The full video was possibly the best MTB video in existence. The levels of giggling were intense ???? Really wish we had similar kinda here or places where we could just build things like that as a community
  9. waaaahahahahaha ???? best
  10. Pretty simple really...because you want to ride it and try. The world, thankfully, is full of people like Gee who show us what's possible beyond the realms of your average dirt roadie.
  11. Wahaahahahaha. I saw an even worse example of the sh1tting dog in an e-bike at Stoke a lil while back.
  12. waaaahahahaa
  13. I know a guy who'll be selling a XL 2018 Transition Sentinel soon. Also a 140mm rear travel bike and what an amazing one at that too
  14. I think you'll find that Hope rear hubs on some online retailers (you know the 2 or 3) tend to come in cheaper than 350's. Although it might just be that they go on "sale" more often.
  15. A and B. C and D I think are the same between Hope and DT, cannot fault either on that. A - I honestly find it a bit of a slap in the face to the consumer to have to pay for an upgrade from 18t (unless I am mistaken) on the 350 to something like the 36. That from DT (clearly you okes have min control over that) should be an option at purchase...i.e. do you want your hub with 18, 36, 50xxx ratchet...same price. B - obviously that's just personal preference.
  16. Can't help myself...cough cough Hoogies....tech....cough Being somewhat of a rim dinger (dingus?) myself, I was on the WTB Asym Tough i35's until recently and killed the rear badly. Considering I always run DH or Supergravity of Black Diamond casing in the rear with pressure in the 26PSI region I was marginally impressed with the rim. Riding primarily TM and Signal hill stuff, granted a lot of slower (barring Pat's left and right and Slick Rock, Trechy Rock n a few). I picked up a set of Spank 350 Vibracore on BF last year (don't bother with the vibracore IMO) and laced them up. Same tyres and pressure and trails etc....And wow, that rims is in my anectdotal evidence significantly stronger than the WTB i was on. So far, 6 months, not a ding, only a re-tensioning of spokes after some (failed?) whip attempts and the rim is still true AF. Anyway, so if you can find that rim in 28H i would highly recommend it. Otherwise I have seen with my own eyes how okes who should destroy a rim (I'm looking at you Dan, Moogle and Theunis) when running the South Industries and the rim just laughing it off...
  17. well here's the 54t upgrade as example ???? https://getstokedonline.co.za/product/dt-swiss-54t-star-ratchet-set/ Had the Lyne high engagement rear and it's great! I just got a steal on the 240 and grams are grams hey...???? well when your frame is heavy at least.
  18. Yeah but 350 standard is what, 18 innit and the upgrade is almost 2k on top of the purchased price ????
  19. Hope...easier to service at home and more engagement points as well as colour options. Mt 240 has been uber quiet...I no longer believe ppl saying DT are loud. Hope are not obnoxiously loud at all.
  20. Yeah, go check our Bernards last 2 vids, you really get a sense for how steep it is in his track walk one. Latest one below, track walk was one earlier I think.
  21. Track looks damn near perfect Limited bikepark, multiple line options, off camber, some very steep sections. Will make for great racing. Man, woudl love to have something similar to play on around here ????
  22. Dureasole in Wynberg or Barksole in CT CBD
  23. 110% yes. Only danger is falling and not having someone around to call mountain rescue
