  1. That's ignorance...The straps on the Thule Freeride go nowhere near the rear spoiler, even after I added a lift kit to the rear of mine. My bike is a good 18kg with water bottles, lights etc and is again, fully stable on the rack. Again, people love to blame the tool when they don't understand how to use it. But anyhoo, that's me out
  2. Current gen is a 1.5 3 cylinder turbo, prev (mine) was 1.6 4 cyl turbo, and the PREV PREV was the 2.0l But yeah, nothing wrong with the hang racks IMO so long as you know how to use your tool it wont damage your car OR your bike.
  3. Nope. Most Fiestas are completely TB compatible. It's the suspension and exhaust changes on teh ST model specifically and rear bumper/body that interfer.
  4. Non of the Fiesta ST's have ever been sub 1l mos. Even the 1l EcoBoost @ 92kW was above that. Is there even a sub-1l Fiesta? OR is that Figo territory?
  5. I've had a Fiesta ST180 since new in 2013...Firstly an amazing car and now going on 180 000km without fault Secondly...as okes say, no stock towbar, but anyone with some knowhow could fabricate one IMO that would be plenty strong for 2 bikes and a rack. Personally I just use the Thule Freeride or something clip on and after many years it has cause no damage. Granted, I have some clear vinyl on the boot where the feet directly touch the paint (yellow area below in the OOOOLD pic). But that's simple enough.
  6. That's interesting to hear. I wonder what the difference in radius is between the 2.8 and 3" Slaughter or other tyre for that matter.
  7. Might I ask which 2.8 you are running? Tread pattern AND sidewall. The sidewall can make a moerse difference to the feel to the point where you could step to a 2.8 with a sidewall more appropriate to what it is you want from the feel of the tyre and prolly notice min/no difference. Interesting discussion to have. RSA consumers seem to have no clue about sidewalls and our importers until very recently have been, IMO, useless at educating their clients on it either.
  8. JNo 2.8? The Spez tyres measure pretty true to size unlike MaxAss. Unfortunate though
  9. Revolution in the CBD> SJ was bragging to me the other day about his stock of 275 tyres
  10. Would get the lezyne and a cheapie for your head from CWC (one of those advertised +- 1000 lumen ones). You can't ride trails without a head light with any sort of somfort/confidence. The lezyne i would choose, simply as there are actual reviews and graphs of the light output compared to lights i have used in person (the Lezyne Deca Crive 1500i and Giant Recon HL1800) - https://road.cc/content/review/lezyne-super-drive-1600xxl-279191 That way I can see IRL how the light performs compared to something I have personally experienced. The other one...no direct comparative data so woudl just ignore it
  11. R1100 rear and about R1200 front each. Assuming std service and nothing is totally wankered inside.
  12. Stoke Suspension as always. Droo was rebuilding a Lefty again when I was there yesterday.
  13. Legit...the trail builders in CT could learn a WHOLE lot from the people who built and are building trails in George. The amount of progression they allow for is amazing and none of this "if it's too easy just go faster" nonsense either. Multiple lines, catch berms where needed, no filling in of rock gardens, off camber sections, steep and tight sections, and things flow great without making every corner a berm. Actually the trail that flowed least well was the lower section of Stukke which was bermiest ???? Seriously seriously well done. They were amazing when i lived there 10 years ago and they will remain, for me, the best trails in the WC by some margin.
  14. Dude! Thank you and all organisers involved for the amazing event. One day I'll learn how to ride a bike in an actual race ????...Maybe The pre and post ride days though too...Yoh! Love ????
  15. Heading up at lunchtime...Night ride tonight, some exploration tomorrow TM style and then queue on sat ????
  16. Yeah, but again, warm it up and it'll more easily penetrate between the strands (OFC on the non sealed, cheaper, cables).
  17. Melt some candles into an old cookie tin. Drop ya **** cables in there and melt the wax, swish around a bit. You'll be surprised. Even the cheapest of cheap cables (i.e. SunRace @ R18 or so a cable from Sportsmans Whorehouse) work amazingly well for many a month post this.
  18. I ride a 2018 Patrol. 2 mates on the V1 Sentinel and love it. The V1 got rave reviews... The V2 came out and as you probably know.... Serious upgrade over the V1. It's also not a huge travel bike. Imo would be amazing for Jonkers etc. As for getting one in RSA... I don't think it's even on Tranny RSA's website but contact them on their Facebook page. Luke is usually very good at responding ???? But I highly doubt you'd find a demo unfortunately ???? But in this case... It wouldn't concern me in the slightest. All of their new bikes have seriously hit the mark and the Spur.... Holy hell I'd give lefty and righty for one ????
  19. Yeah there's min at Tygerberm, maybe Main DH, by itself, or into Revised, Black Rhino is more of a flow trail really and the rest of the entire network is all flow trail. Dont' get me wrong, but oldies will probably know...Flow is fun, but it just gets bloody sterile when nigh every trail you have is flow. Yes, come at me sheeple if you like. We unfortunately have a lot of Blue trails advertising themselves as Black and it's mildly annoying as it really does nothing for the sport but stifle progression of upcoming riders. For official trails, Jonkers really, Iron Monkey and Plumber if you would like a reasonable challenge, unfortunately Status Quo is dead as we speak. Hellsend I hear good things of. Tokai had Main DH into All Mountain or full Main DH. Snakes are super fun, but apart from the top level (Cobra) the others are also all flow trails and have had work done to make them better suited to the bikes from the early 2000's. TM has a bunch of great shorter trails, very steep in places and very natural. Don't expect a catch berm, expect to have to work to corner etc. the Glen is in need of some work at present. A great trail that, but the fire a few years back higher up slope has meant that in the rainy season there is a tonne of sheetwash coming down it and destroying things. So hopefully we can get in there soon and do a little digging and divert a few sections. The rain is getting better as the vegetation grows back at least. George...a special place for certain. Good mix of trail types, natural where the trail lends itself to it, catch berms where needed, then a few flow trails thrown in and the odd (cough ... maybe more than a few) natural/hiking trail to cruise down. Heading there for the long weekend coming up again Long time coming and now there's the enduro race there as well. So Fri before will be more a explore mission etc My 6c worth
  20. Ah back in the day that DH track was fun on the old 2008 Silverback Nevada with plastic pedals. Nice case on the quarry jumps My first time casing I ended up on the flat ground on the bottom
  21. I know, he specifically mentions all that as well. At least it is a set of somewhat standardised tests to compare things. And let's be fair...the vast majority of Squirt users are not going to use it strictly as per instructions in any case. Even with all the care Squirt still packs on *** in my experience.
  22. Interesting....And I am happy using the MucOff ????
  23. Not a fan of Squirt. Some methodical testing kinda shows some reasons why: But yes...new chain. Rag with degreaser and remove excess lube....done
  24. Yeah dude, making it as blind as possible makes it way more fun for all Look, loads of us know most of the stuff so it's never completely blind, but wish it could be
