  1. First ride with them this morning. 1. Face coverage. - I think the perfect amount, big enough to keep the wind out of the eyes in all cycling positions and small enough to allow enough air to cool the face. (I sweat a heck of alot so need as much cooling as possible) 2. Visibility - With no frame visibility out the top is excellent, my eye does however occasionally pick up the bit where it connects to the arms, but that is only under extreme left/right angles. Also my old Rudy Projects were not optically 100% and would give me additional out of focus vision. I always just accepted this as my eyes are already bad, and the additional did not impare thing to much, but these D'Arcs are optically correct and its great. 3. Fit - The nose piece is not adjustable, but it fits my nose perfectly. Its also slightly spaced away from the lenses which means my sweaty eyebrows dont touch. The glasses are much lighter than the RPs so I dont even feel them on me. The arms are however slightly longer, whilst they fit comfortably with my helmet on I do need to put them on a little more carefully. So far so good. The real test will be wearing them in the heat climbing a mountain.
  2. I committed a cardinal sin, I purchased an item from Cajees today. they were however the cheapest. Picked up a pair of D’Arcs Eclipse photochromatics. Ticked the boxes, Photochromatic bigger than my previous pair in budget
  3. My mates been out of the country for a month, managed to convince him to do an afternoon ride yesterday. was good to have company agai.
  4. Took the day off today. So to commemorate my 47 loops of the sun I went for a chilled ride.
  5. hahaha, its not that (I hope ). I work on saturday mornings, I ride on sunday mornings. So I have limited time, so it was more a case of speeding things up.
  6. Well this has become a useless post. The wife has found the ideal desk for sale on facebook, so we will be going to collect on the weekend. In one way I was kind of looking forward to doing the work, on the other hand it does save me a fair bit of time.
  7. I started wearing those el cheapo gloves you get at builders warehouse a few years ago, but during COVID we bought a box of nitryl gloves. I now have pairs of these all over the place. Where I hang my bike in the garage I've got my Ryder Lubretta which I taped a magnet to the lid and it hangs on the garage door rail, and just next to that is a set of nitryl gloves and a rag.
  8. reads like an advert, but I guess the Supplied by SA Sport and Cargo bit right at the top should give it away. Not the kind of content I'm interested in on the hub, but I guess advertisers etc. need to be pleased for various reasons.
  9. The old Pajero's were VERY capable offroad, the new Pajero Sports are an improvement on them. I've taken a Pajero Sport through the official Mitsubishi SA Offroad training programme that all customers go on when they purchase a new 4x4. You arrive at an obstacle and think for sure you will be getting at least a little bit stuck with some maneuvering to get out, but the vehicle is so capable that you just cruise through like its nothing.
  10. And because they stopped production of these vehicles and they are such iconic cars they are actually starting to appreciate in value.
  11. Yes, I will build in support aswell as getting a set of ready made drawers to fit underneath as additional support. Thanks
  12. yep. I'll tape up the cut area. Do you suggest a finer tooth blade rather than a rougher tooth, or the other way around ? It will be a large radius. hahahahaha
  13. Question for those that have a bit more skill and knowledge. We bought my youngest daughter a used bunk bed. The idea is to keep the top bed, and convert the bottom to a desk. The frame is made out of pine, and the base of the bed is chipboard. The plan is to use the base as top of the desk, but cut it in a L-shape. With the tools I have, circular saw and jig saw, the easiest and potentially neatest cuts would be 90deg L shape. But a curved L would be more ergonomical and visually better, I'm just worried about cutting a clean arch with the jigsaw. Any tips ? Or suggestions for a L shape that is not 90deg.
  14. I sell cars for a living, same thing. I also dont bother, my thoughts are the same as yours. If you cant afford the phone call then you cant afford what I'm selling.
  15. its for these very reasons that the mechanics at land rover told me its easier to separate the body from the chassis for most jobs on these vehicles.
  16. how sure are you its not a spoke ? My old road bike had a spoke that would not tighten on the nipple. under certain conditions it would tick on every revolution of the wheel.
  17. Sounds like saturday. During the week the wife spots a bunk bed for sale on facebook. I contact the seller, we agree to saturday to go see the bed. In the ad she states buyer must dis-assemble the bed. So I ask the seller what tools will be required. "oh just a philips screwdriver" So I take an driver drill and bits and a good old manual philips screwdriver. i get there an she also has 2 screw drivers out just in case. Grab the driver drill, the bit older is to wide to get into the pocket holes on the bed. Grab the normal screwdriver. Strange, it just wont grip the head. That when i pulled out my phone, activated the torch and took a look see. Nope, not philips heads, those be torx heads. Had to run off to builders wharehouse and get a set of torx screw drivers.
  18. maybe not in the original spirit of the thread, but I learned you can use a monkey wrench and old chain instead of a chain whip. I know, I should buy the right tool. But I normally use an old chain and a vice grip plier as a chain whip when removing the cassette, but yesterday as I put the old chain over the cassette I wondered what would happen if I grip that old chain over the sprocket with a monkey wrench. It worked a treat. Even better than using a vice grip as I had more leverage. Have to be careful though so as not to grip other sprockets, so putting the chain over the smallest sprocket is the best bet.
  19. you say it only makes the noise with you on the bike, does it do it stand and seated ? I'm with beatbox here, saddle or seatpost
  20. I’m not, but everyone else seems to be
  21. So then the question needs to be asked ? What makes events within our borders so much pricier than outside our borders ? It cant be all profit/priced for status
  22. landed up getting one from Finish Line in kempton
  23. I looked at the 11-30, did the calcs on comparison to 11-32. I'm a bit weak for the 11-30
