  1. They're especially useful for technically inept guys who frequently drop chains. Andy Schleck immediately springs to mind, and this was spotted in Luxembourg....
  2. That makes sense then. They didn't really mind about the photos, they were just p!ssed off that the plebs thought they could ride with them. ;-)
  3. LOL. That has to be the dumbest idea of all time. Unless the brakes work in reverse, with the motor required to keep them open, and a flat battery would apply the brakes(hopefully not too suddenly at 80 kmh).
  4. Not really, they don't give a crap about anything.
  5. A big question mark on this list has to be Big Mig. He ranks as one of my all time favourites, but hell, he weighed in at 80 kgs and 1.88m. A climber he definitely wasn't.
  6. The Impec might be ugly, but at least BMC redeems themselves with this baby:
  7. That is seriously hot.
  8. Ag, i suppose the guy loses out then. Let him go buy a Raleigh with Tiagra that his "buurman" approves of, serves him right.
  9. Not quite. The 8 speed Dura Ace RD only works with 8 speed and below DA shifters. Of course the RD has an influence on indexing. Its a parallelogram, so when you pull on the cable anchor point the pulleys move a corresponding amount that is determined by the geometry of that parallelogram. For this reason you cant mix Sram.Campag and Shimano. Likewise, you cant use a new 10 speed Shimano MTB RD witb 9 speed Shimano shifters.
  10. The frame is made in Italy as well. None of this outsourcing to China stuff for Mario.
  11. Looks like you got conned by more than one LBS. Not only do they fix prices, but information too.
  12. That Lance guy is quite a strong cyclist for a swimmer.
  13. LOL, excellent!
  14. Fantastic magazine, love the photography. I think the Python on pg 34 is trying to mate with the handlebar tape.
  15. Thats a long wait. Waiting list for a Richard Sachs frame is 7 years. He builds 50 to 60 frames a year and is a one man show.
  16. Threads can be fixed if they are not totally stripped. You need the right tools for the job though: http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help/bottom-bracket-tapping-and-facing-bts-bfs If your threads are totally stripped you can import press in BB's from overseas, although you will be limited to old style square taper cranks.
  17. Take it to your LBS and see if they can "Chase" the threads. If they are not too badly damaged it should work out. I'm not sure if all bike shops are equipped for this, but I know that Marks Bicycle Workshop in Bellville will be able to help you out.
  18. I think you're pretty screwed. You can maybe cut the ends of those arms.
  19. Not mad on this bike. The bulky lugs are really ugly.
  20. Go for the Scott. Better wheels and decent Ritchey components instead of the "no name brand" Felt stuff they put on their bikes.
  21. Good on you for apologising. Brandon and Probike in general are a good bunch of guys.
  22. I dont blame you, I heard that all Kiwi's are being hunted down and deported.
  23. Jeep should gives those guys a bonus, they are getting awesome mileage out of this video.
  24. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2oymHHyV1M
  25. If you go look at pics of the Pro's bikes on CyclingNews.com you will notice that many, if not the majority ride with Alu bars and stems, not just for Roubaix. Not sure what the reason is, but go have a look for yourself. I myself had a Carbon Easton SLX3 Compact bar with a really nice bend and is worth looking at. If your bike is insured then I dont see an issue going carbon if you can afford it, but if you do fall the bar probably will break.
