  1. Radical thought .... PROSECUTE those drivers that are caught !! None of this slap on the wrist nonsense !!!!! (thinking of last weeks "sentence")
  2. Thank you to @shaper and others for your valued input. @Shaper you had me doing some homework on the Forerunner series The FR255 seems to be running low on stock, with Garmin SA not even having any stock. Seems it may be nearing end of life .... though this is not certain. In any case, I started reading up on the other FR options. The FR165 is by all accounts the same hardware as the VivoActive 5, just with a different emphasis on the programming and functionality. Interesting, as the VA5 does not have a barometer .... very strange omission, which gets a lot of attention by DC Rainmaker and others. The FR265 caught my eye ... VERY nice watch !!! At a price premium .... In the end I opted for the FR165. More than 1 week on a single charge, with daily activities. The progress in the software of these watches in the last 4 years is simply mind boggling !! Having fun trying out all, okay some off, the new features.
  3. Maybe also consider, the last few years were some of the wettest. Before that this was a very popular event. For the organisers, riders and local community I do hope the weather plays nicely this year.
  4. 2026 Registration day BEST wishes to those that are registering today. Looking forward to supporting friends that are taking the leap to take on this challenge.
  5. It was clear as day during the prologue that some riders had not worked on their trail skills .... The few Hubbers that dared to point this out was asked to provide their Epic CV or to rather stay silent. 🤣 Respect and kudos to the Sani2C team for actually reaching out and raising the skill level of prospective riders 👍
  6. Uhmm jaaa ... OR, consider the following. The organisers WANT to upskill people to the point where they can actually enjoy their Sani2C. Good on them for doing something to up the skill level. PS - yes, I know one of the coaches of yesterday's session.
  7. Jip, got barely more than 12 months out of the 16", 20", and then the 20" each ...
  8. This is a good option, and well inside your budget. As much as I am a Titan Racing fan, their 16" bikes seems outside your budget.
  9. On second thought ....
  10. @vanessakrige sorry for your loss. Pictures may help. Dont stres if you cant figure out how to load it, we can assist with this. As @Lynskey said, if we know in which province you are, that may just make it easier to help you.
  11. What delightful Friday response 🤣
  12. Which year model ? Not sure if the charger actually changes, but the connector do change every so often. My 2019 charger , and same second charger, both are working perfectly.
  13. Hiehie .... well this comment did not age well 🤣
  14. THAT must explain my long string op PB's today .... 🤣
  15. Blank off the grips ... and many wont be able to identify the one from the other .....
  16. I was next to Doc Craven this morning. What a stunning morning to ride. By midday it was quickly heading to mid 30's ... Dankie @SilverRider & @Scary Rider
  17. Certainly a LOT of pro roadies now going for serious down angles. But their reasoning is markedly different to MTB ....
  18. Saddles do have a live time. I had the same issue in December/January with my HT (my long distance road bike) .... Turns out the saddle had sagged in the middle. NO, you dont see it. But as soon as you sit on it, you sag into it like a soft couch .... causing all kinds of issues. The irony is it happens so gradually that you dont realise it, until it starts hurting .... Sure, tilting the heck out of it means you end up sitting on the front .... which is not ideal either. Took a few tries to get the right saddle ..... After many years on Sella Italia I now love the Fizik on the HT. Well worth popping in at Irma (IrmFit) and have a bike fit done.
  19. Have a look at the DC Rainmaker videos on the Forerunner 265 .... and by all accounts just the start of what can be done with AI. This seems to be one of the key differences between the lower tier modern watches and the "higher end sports focused" watches.
  20. Are you saying the Hub's own keyboard warriors are not up to the task of mass coaching ?
  21. I have been watching a LOT of DC Rainmaker recently. He is talking about this in his recent videos .... a digital clone of you .... advice tailored to you ....
  22. The 2024 model is same as yours @Mongoose! The integrate headset cabling and downtube storage is on the 2025 models. Also glad I got the 2024. In fact that is why I walked away from the Merida ... integrated cables. @Mongoose! do you still use the D-shape post ? I wanted to put another post in mine to see if it stops the creak, but my spare posts are different diameters.
  23. Can somebody please confirm the battery compatibility between : 2019 Giant ebike and a 2023 Liv ebike The Liv is in Joburg, so I cant physically check it myself ...
  24. Where are you ? In the Western Cape I would recommend a session with Irma, IrmFit. Having paid the schoolfees of buying an undersized bike .... it is a pretty expensive exercise
  25. Might be of some to add or remove from your list - My choice came down to the Merida vs the Giant, because there are the two mid specced bikes with 2x gears. Specifically as you note, you want more top speed, but you also want that granny for the steep ones .... The Merida came in a bland black .... and the integrated cables (going through the headset and bearings) is not my cup of tea. The Revolt in that gold/copper just spoke to me the first time I saw it. I am a Titan fanboy ... but you need to go up in price before finding a decent 2x in Titan. Their mid-spec bikes are 1x.
