  1. And all of a sudden Linden is the black sheep of cycle shops. Nobody ever complains about them, and all of a sudden a very reputable shop get 100s of complaints on thehub. You're one in a million, maybe its an honest mistake... but as for rubbish service, naaaah ... BS I say.
  2. To WW, ignore it. I've seen many a dodgy mtb being ridden around, one with the race numbers still attached...and then I though, put it on here, then you'll get some guy gave it to his gardener BS. So I , hopefully hes having a nice ride.Do something about it? You're doomed if you do, doomed if you don't.
  3. I just saw the after race interview with Selenbenskaya (?). Commentator "How was the conditions?" she, 'It was nice and cool" wHAT? On my TV it looked like typical miserable Mud Island weather... They are tough out there in Russia.
  4. Just used your place of training as an example. No direct reference to you. Meant to say that training staff as pro mechanics cost a lot of money. Which a shop will have to recoup from the cyclists, who already complains a lot.
  5. Sky Sport had a good piece and interview with wiggens. If you can, watch at 12. Hes a cool guy. Few of the tour winners I can say I like.
  6. If Morne Steyn plays the way he played for the Boks, I see the Crusaders eating the Bulls for SA Breakfast.
  7. Sad but true, these traditional healers are now legal. So ya, its their right now to advertise whereever they want to. Africa, here we come, almost there.
  8. thats true. the problem is the pro will expect you to ride like him while you're an intermediate cyclist, and you'll overtrain.
  9. ...and when said bikeshops has one or more of these super trained mechanics from Colorado Springs you won't take your bicycle there because their services would be too expensive. I tried a search for 'I'm willing to pay top dollar for a service by a well trained mechanic' on the hub, after three hours still didn't get results.
  10. ya, you beaten me to it. First, finish school...that usually helps with the spelling.
  11. in most cases you can't call them people
  12. Great stuff, and under 8 hours , thats GOING FAST http://www.runnersweb.com/running/news_2012/rw_news_20120709_Challenge_Roth.html
  13. Sad and tragic. Two families have lost a loved one. I hope that this go around and show to irresponsible drivers that you don't get away with bad driving habits. I don't think that justice have anyway been served, whether he has gone to jail for live, 10,20,30 years, because of one person two families lives have been affected in the worst possible manner.
  14. It will be the laugh of the century if she can trace him through his IP. I'll kill myself laughing.
  15. many were complaining bout the ques, they should have 4 people serving. thank goodness my sister could stand in the ques for us. That helped.
  16. commuted a couple of times to work, 3 lights at the back, white and red knogs, red ravx flashing as well. And front a BBB flashing as well. Strapped a visibility belt around my backpack. And to the person, calling people who cycles into oncoming traffic a tjop, I'm one fo them, because its much more quiet on my route. traffic comes, I jump on the pavement , or stop even for the 1 or 2 cars, and get going again.
  17. I lost my sence of humour this time around, about 1/2 way into stage 2. It was a tough round at the Kremetart. I wanted to pack up after stage 2. Didn't have a good race, wasn't nearly prepared enough for it. That wind made a otherwise easy race quite difficult. 100 k into the wind.
  18. did it. Lost my sence of humour with that wind. Was buggerred after stage 2. Said to the family I'll see where I get. jOINED the C group, kept up with them for 35, dropped of and finished the stage on my own. Same with stage 4. Still had the legs for the flats. goin up, I provd that you can stay upright at 5k per hour. Legs are a bit stiff and sore today. good race, excellent goody(foody) bag. Potjie was brilliant. Had to vulture last night.
  19. Yow, the truck went over him but was high enough not to drag him. Fortunate for him. Recover soon.
  20. R59, is it a highway, does it have the freeeway sign? After that I don't think you may cycle on it.
  21. the first thing you do overseas is buy a starter pack...do not use SA Ripoffcom
  22. Structuring any training is important. I've never paid for programs, went to a couple of workshops, did self study. got my health issues sorted, now I can probably improve. All you basically do is look at your weakness, eg , is your climbing good, not, work on climbing. Monitor it... don't overdo it, and ... voila. if you want to reach Sa's , pro, you may need to get professional help though.
  23. How about a comp, like endomondo, but not distance based, rather temp based, then we'll see who has the kit, and the balls, and the gloves to hold it out. See who can record the lowest temp. But, rides must be at least 45 minutes.
  24. Have a doctor check you out, all scrapes, bruising etc. claim from the RAF. Bumps/bruising may come back later to cause pain and then you pay.
  25. Beers?
