Looks like Benky is pulling away again...
Dana is a dude I think..
Yip. Elaine is the leading lady (EB).
We are already sitting at about 24 degrees with the temp set to hit at least 37 today....Light South Wester to keep the riders company. Eish.
?
Go have a look. Someone turned it into a vegan discussion - for a couple of pages.
as long as you use it for draad, yeah.
Come on bru it treks like a souped GTi ekse!
Yeah, was jumping on your wagon. It's comfy. Not many people on it, though.
Is there room for someone that owns a Trek?
Any feedback from riders who rode today?
Maybe we should head over to the vegan thread for some 'mechanical' discussion, I'm directing them over here
Head over to the 'stuff I learnt the hard way....' thread for some vegan discussion Seriously.
I dunno. he lifted him past the horizontal, and didn't put him down without causing harm.
From other incidents, most would seem to give red for this. Beast seems to have been saved by the Jap prop instinctively putting out and landing on his arm first
SO, it highlights how ridiculous things have got.
The sanction is now determined not by the action of the player, but by what happens!
You'll see here, Fekitoa is down, has a huge smile on his face once the card is given and then gets back to play (yellow card was later rescinded as it deemed a fair tackle). Exactly the same reaction by Jap prop this weekend - we have got to the point that making things look bad has a potential huge upside...
Soccer had this issue in 1986, Maradonna ran past everyone, seemingly at will. Rather than going for the ball and getting schooled, defenders just started hacking his ankles down and conceded a free kick. This incentivised Diego just just dive everytime he came near a player.
FIFA didn't sort it out and 30 years later it's still a huge problem.
I also think they need to rethink RED cards. ban the player from the match but let another sub on after 15mins. Having 14 v 15 for anything longer than this due to a single incident is just dumb and ruins games.
Completely agree on the red card. I know Kobus Wiese is also very vocal about it - needs to change.
I also think something along the lines of what you are suggesting should work.
Hopefully they just resting him!
Rassie put his fitness at 70%
Kolbe out.
Nkosi gets his start.
Can someone please explain the inappropriateness of this?
Surely he wouldn't have been selected for the Springboks game, so the fact that he had a drink with some Welsh people is moot, because it is the same game that he would be ineligible for.
He wasn't considered in any capacity. World Rugby is investigating...whatever that means. Personally do not see anything wrong as I don't think anyone can fault the red card but I guess it was seen as insensitive or whatever.
Kind of obvious that the welsh ref can only get one of the games.
Thought the NZ refs would feature more in the knockouts
Brainfart moment on my part, forgot that Owens is Welsh.
Me too.
He apparently apologised for the photo but I gather that he wasn't considered for the games in any capacity due to it.
Garces and Owens to ref semi finals...guess who we got?
Peyper not considered due to 'inappropriate' photo.
I think they had one recently ... a couple riders came off on some sections ... memory serves Kate C had to get stitches in her knee ...
Yip, think Pauline broke her nose as well or was that a different event?
I used to live in mine at home in my school days.
My butt sometimes got the imprint of the underside on it when I was growing up
Daai goed het 'n man se gat laat brand!
It's a mountainbike, it has done a
sani2ctransbaviaans or so.
2 x Sani2c actually - little bracelets for lack of a better word given to riders at the start of Day 2.
And you are also correct with the Trans profile sticker.
How much of an issue is wet feet & shoes for the rest of the race after walking langwater? I guess you can at least put on some dry socks at CP4. I heard some people actually walked it barefoot.
You will get feet wet again between the two Fangs and some splashes in the lead-up to MAC. We always change socks at CP4. We also put some wetwipes in the box, helps to feel nice and fresh for the last stretch.
There are a couple of water crossings after the Big Dipper that you can slowly roll through without getting feet wet.
Is the part about the road being sorted for this coming weekend confirmed?
I would take this with a bag of salt or typical Wikus humour.
As Vetseun said earlier on the thread, prepare for the worst(get your mind right) and it won't be so bad, nothing you can do about it but ride what you get, including weather and road conditions.
Team Number 68 - Almal op die Trein. Going for 'official' number 10 and unofficial number 12.
Aiming for a 14 -16 hour finish.

I'm very confused. I had it that it is Dana from Potch. Spoke to my LBS guy who has partnered with him on some rides and he did say that Dana was riding...Will try confirm again.
