  1. YES lots of it. I'm originally from the Hex River valley / De Doorns. The mountain there - Matroosberg (the highest mountain in the WC) so yeah its covered in snow.Ceres the town is just a bit higher than our town so that why its snows on the ground there and at us it only knows about halfway down the mountain. But it being a valley all the cold is trapped inside and its f'en cold. Living in Stellenbosch now so its much nicer - weather wise An unpleasant week stay in Ceres seems to spring to mind. Beginning of Aug 2005.....OMG! We went there really unprepared with the clothing that we took. Didn't help staying in some cardboard box instead of a real building. Remember leaving the oven door open to get some heat.... Real pretty and I would have not minded the cold if I had a decent jacket with me....bored girl2009-06-25 07:49:51

  4. Hope it stops soon.....Imagine Knysna next week otherwise....
  5. Very little effort is required to beat DoOL
  6. . Is there nothing stamped on the crank arms?
  7. A lot of previous CC?races are moving away from CC and over to Racetec. You're right. We did a small road race a while back, which was advertised as a CC event and when we got there it was SST. Reason was that CC wanted too much money to time the event I think. And even the bigger races like Bela Bela are changing. Seems CC are getting a bit sloppier. After the Kremetart it took a while for results and I remember people complaining about the correct-ness of them. I have encountered very minor issues with SST in the past but after seeing the results from Sat I am really shocked....
  8. Nope... and on top of it I am at home in bed sick - must have been the medication Wasn't talking to you So I suppose the Fri ride helped you get today off hey? And HR not at all I thank you! But in my deffence...."t" and "g" is a bit closer to each other than "e" and "u"
  9. ianj' date=' look?[/quote'] ? Holy - you're just showing your ignorance. ? Frong is a totally acceptable term being made up of the words "front" and "wrong". ? i.e. the front guys who were wrong. ? and you write for a living? ? Thanx JL that's exactly what I meant
  10. ? he did say "i was riding alone"? Did you not get your 5 coffees this morning....?
  11. OK a step in the right direction. BUT...how can you take this race as a seeding one? Lets go back to the 30km and the fastest guys being stuck at the back due to whatever reasons....now all of a sudden they are somewhere way way down the list on the results page and they get a k@k seeding for the next race? Also imagine Phillip Buys or someone of the front guys gets puncture 1st 5km and then fixes it and rejoins the race, gets to sit in a queue and oh no doesn't finish top 10. Will you seed him with us weekend warriors the next race? Maybe expand the seeding events a bit... bored girl2009-06-22 02:44:53
  12. I did the 53km, and knowing that 60km isn't really my distance I started way way back in the pack. Needless to say when I got to the single track I did what everyone else did and stood chatting to OxWagon. Potentially a great route by the river. Wonder if it is possible to ride it on a normal day??? It was a hard race for me as it was completely flat and there was no place to relax and recover. I had to work all the time. Even riding with DR and Jules didn't make it any easier. I am sorry I didn't stop at the water point with the fudge though.... The 1 thing that was a bit annoying was that I followed the marked route that went over the little bump, with the chap that had a bleeding eye....(hope it wasn't too serious but a helmet in 2 doesn't paint nice pictures). There were people coming from the left at that point and we were all confused as to where they were coming from. Apparently they got redirected and ended up in front of us (that followed the route) in the single track.... I would like DR to admit here that I beat him in the sprint As to the race and so on.....Wessel we all saw beforehand that you put a lot of effort into this race/series. It is appreciated even though it doesn't seem so from this topic. The way you guys tried to make the entries in a way that was cheaper and have them on your own site, maybe you can try and introduce seeding in your series. It seems there's a lot of people that won't enter another race in the series and it is quite sad if you can provide nice routes. I do not know how difficult or easy it is to introduce a seeding but why not be one of the first series to do it? I can assure you it will be very well received. Love the socks btw...
  13. Yes I am sure it piles on but it's going to be the same for any race if your whole family races. You also have possibly 4 x 2 bikes to equip compared to my 2, but that just something you gotta do. What I am saying is that their race fee especially for the MTB isn't bad compared to other races and the area is just great....
  14. Yeah we're doing it. Driving down this year
  15. The MTB race is R185 and if I remember correctly it was this much last year too. It includes a permit to ride in the forests which is like R30 or something, which I'd gladly pay to just ride in the area. So "race" is like R150-155 for the 85(76)km.....which is pretty normal Magalies monster - R150 Induna - R140 Even Babbas is R110 for their long distance. So I am sorry to say but Knysna is not that much. Road entry was R175 The herald - R170 The Fast one - R165 Ride for sight - R150 Carnival City - R150...... reckon pretty normal rip off on the road side bored girl2009-06-19 04:33:41
