  1. It is not uncommon for a non UST tyre to pop off a non UST rim. A proper UST tyre will fit perfectly into the rim's UST bead, however the same cannot be said of non UST/tubeless ready equipment. You have two choices, either be careful when seating your tyre, and ride with the fear that the tyre can pop off at any time, or get yourself the real deal with proper UST beading that will give you peace of mind.
  2. Keep both the Roubaix and the Tarmac, then complete the circle and get a Venge! Then you've got an endurance bike, an all-rounder and a sprinter. What more could you ask for?
  3. Tiny K, at this rate you will soon be eligible for the Grand Tour in June!
  4. I once froze my USN Epic Turbo, and it tasted horrible afterwards. Now I just add alot of ice cubes before a race. I am sure that the freezing causes some sort of a breakdown of the incredients.
  5. Problem is you should not run your bike, but ride it!
  6. You are correct, the Toupe is intended for road use, and the Romin and Phenom are mtb saddles. I tried a Toupe on a mtb before, and it did not work for me, although I love my Toupe on my road bike. Get the Romin for your mtb, but also consider the Phenom, which is a bit heavier but very comfy.
  7. Or not
  8. Well done on the new look!
  9. Was great to be back on the circuit to loosen the legs before league racing on Sunday.
  10. Thanx for those encouraging words 'Dale, but only if it was that easy!
  11. A for mtbing , but still a B for road . (Not that I use the B, cause of league, but an A number would have look nice in the draw.)
  12. Nice weather for circuit racing tonight!
  13. In that case, I think the problem is bigger than what I anticipated, and definitely not the Climacool's fault! Sorry I can't be of any more assistance in this regard.
  14. I prefer Jacquers' answer to question 1...being on a 29er myself!
  15. Have you ever considered the fact that those two gym tops and the few cycling tops have reached the end of it's life cycle?
  16. I have a follow-up question. How do you wash your cycling clothes when it was used on a 29er? FFS guys, what's next... how do you wipe your ass?
  17. Rob, Rob, you must learn to read, and to think before you speak (write). Where in my post did I mention the word 'better'. Where did I say a 29er is better than a 26er. Where did I say digital is better than vinyl. I think you just made a fool of yourself with this rediculous reply on my innocent statement about being old school and new trends and developments.
  18. If you prefer your music on vinyl, your old school and should ride a 26 inch bike, but if you are keeping up with new developments, get a 29er!
  19. Well said Tankman, this dude keeps comming back with his 'very knowledgeable advice', and has absolutely no clue what is going on. Good advice you gave the lady!
  20. Who is this dude who is so knowlegeable,or is this post supposed to be a joke?
  21. Chicks are gorgeous, bikes are awesome or great. By the way, I think that bike is everything but gorgeous!
  22. Spez Tarmac S-Works SL4, Sram Red, Zipp 404 Firecrest with Continental GP4000s, Look Blade Ti, Spez Toupe S-Works carbon saddle, FSA K-Wing compact = 6.5kg.
  23. Tyre sealant will work in a road bike tube, but not as effectively as a tubeless mtb tyre. Due to the higher air pressure in a road bike, a puncture caused by a thorn or small piece of glass will result in a rapid loss of air, which is normally to quick for any sealant to do it's job, however inflating with a Co2 bomb or pump afterwards could seal the hole. Good thing about sealnt in a road tube is that the tyre hardly deflates completely after a puncture, making it much safer to control the bike. Downside of sealant in a road tube is that sealant tends to dry or become sticky after a while, forcing you to replace the tubes every 3 to 6 months. I use sealant in my tubes without any problems.
  24. Bet it was a Specialized. If the driver is really into speed, he would not be riding anything else!
  25. Try riding on those tyres, instead of running with them, will make a huge difference in performance and speed.
